Looks like Hargrove is suspended for half the season, rooks will definitely get some valuable playing time.

I have a feeling that Neal and Hargrove might be released because of their suspensions and the amount of draft picks on the defensive side we got

8 games? Holy crap, I dunno the only bonus would be he will be fresh mid season, but I don't know if he should be kept around. I bet Neal sticks around for one more year now even with his suspension

I would say there's a .01% chance of this happening. Neal is way too talented, and Hargrove is a very good pass rusher. D Line is the most injured position is football so these guys coming fresh off there suspension's will be very valuable to us. Suspended players do not count towards the 53 player and we won't have to pay there salary for the games they missed. We wouldn't gain anything by cutting them.Reps on sight: Ect0, Tiacampo

Ryan Grant is considering an offer from the Lions (as well as the Pats past offer).

His first couple games as a packer 2 seasons ago. THe guy was manhandling offensive lineman. I understand the critism of Neal, he needs to stay healthy. But we were all head over heals for him his first couple of games and I still think he can be that guy. Then again I'm one of the guy's that never gave up hope for HarrellLast edited by packerfanfrommd; 05-03-2012 at 09:40 PM.

TT doesnt give up on his draft picks so quick, remember justin harrell. I expect Neal to still be around.
I hope we keep Hargrove. A fresh, good pass rushing DT. Sounds like what everybody is looking for come week 8.

I agree that he will still be around because TT gives his draft picks every opportunity even when they don't deserve it. Just not looking for another Justin Harrell situation. So many defended him here and where is he now? Probably can't even make an arena football team.
Who? I am sure Thompson can find someone to replace his three tackles per season.

Apparently Grant's agent spread a false story that he was visiting the Lions.

Guess he was seeing if we would bite if we saw him going to a division rival. Thought he had an offer from the Pats too?
Also looks like our first draft pick signed will be Jerron McMillian the 4th round S. Just before rookie orientation on Friday

The Packers dont need another Wynn on the roster. We have enough talent to be able to keep Neal on, he has a massive upside if he can stay healthy. What you need to realize is that you cant just quit on a dude because he has had some injuries. I think Ted Thompson has this player personnel thing figured out.
All rookies signed. Gotta root for a guy like McMillian coming out of a small school program. I always pick a draftee each year to pay special attention to. Last year it was Randall Cobb and he had a great season for us. McMillian could be my guy this season.

I can see the criticism around Neal but it would be tough to give up on that kind of potential. I still think he can put it all together. I think the one thing that wasn't discussed enough (from my perspective at least) was the drop off of BJ Raji. He was much more dominant in 2010 than 2011.
I like Worthy a lot too. My only issue with the Pack is, who is rushing the QB opposite of Clay Matthews. That was a huge weakness for them last year and they didn't really address it this past off-season.
Yikes a Justin Harrell reference! That's a tough pill to swallow!
How is that possible. Aaron Rodgers may be one the most exciting athlete to watch in any of the four major pro sports. Between Rodgers, Crosby, Durant and Josh Hamilton.Six Star Pro Nutrition Rep

Was literally thinking the same exact respond word for word after reading that. My top 2 camp battles this year are
1. Perry vs. So'to
I'm a huge So'to fan, and feel he can be our James Harrison diamond in the rough. Guy is a straight up violent player. He looked great before injury, he dominated the KC game last pre-season. I feel once everything clicks for him, he'll be the best LOLB on the roster. That's not a shot at Perry, just Perry's game is more finese where as So'to is more of a power player. Really excited for these 2 players
2. Newhouse vs Sherrod
On one hand, we have Newhouse who the coaches raved about all of training camp last year. Had his ups and downs but definitely held his own towards the end of the season and showed great potential, especially for a 5th round draft pick. On the other hand, we have our 1st round pick from last year, Derrick Sherrod who is a perfect physical specimen for LT(big hands, quick on his feet, and long arms) but had a pretty gruesome injury. If he can put everything together mentally and in the weight room, the sky is the limit for him. I think Newhouse will win the job this year, but next year Sherrod will show us why he was a first round pick.Reps on sight: Ect0, Tiacampo

Although i havnt heard anything recently. I think i read that Sherrod wont be ready for the start of the year. Hopefully he can get in shape and be a solid back-up ready to step in. Obviously in the future you hope your 1st round pick turns into a franchise LT but doesnt look like it this year.
Agree completely with the Soto comments. Out pass rush has to have gotten drastically better. Excited to see Perry in action too.
