Hi,
I'm in pretty good shape, and am interested in learning more about competitions. I just don't know which is the right one for me (Bikini, Figure or Bodybuilding). I'm looking for something that is best for a petite, feminine figure. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Bodybuilding - Solid overall quality muscle with very low body fat.
Figure - Some overall muscle, but higher body fat then a body builder.
Bikini - Your typical girl who looks good in a bikini. No real visible muscle, higher body fat then figure.
This is the way it's supposed to be. But the level of competition has gone down hill through the years. Everyone seems to be rushing to the stage and most of them are unprepared.National Level Competitor (Female BB)

^^^^ What Kim said.
If you want to get an idea of what some of the girls look like check out recent result from your local NPC division.
And don't forget about fitness either! Girl who do fitness tend to have a bit more muscle then figure but not as much muscle and not as lean as a BBer. Half of your score is based on posting/physique and the other half is based on a dance routine that you do. If you have dance experience or just like performing it can be great! It is my personal favorite to watch too.

Bodybuilding - looks like an athlethic man (no boobs)
Figure - slimmer than body builder ( fake boobs)
Bikini - looks like a hot chick, not muscular, but firm and curvy (big boobs - fake or real)

This is exactly what I thought but I just came from a show last night @ "The Stingrey" in Waikiki, Hawaii and I can tell ya what I saw....
Bikini...was toned but just your typical beach goer
Figure...was tight and muscular
Bodybuilding...was figure (not even freakishly buff)
Fitness....pretty much figure and the movie "bring it on" with props
Son i am disappoint
All the women were great no doubt, but the way they were classed was by height and weight not on visible or non visible muscle. To me these different classes are just so every woman can have a chance at getting on stage. And the qualifications for each of these classes are not much different from each other. At least from what I saw at this show.(\ /)
