I'm also new here so hello to everyone!
After being divorced for about a year now I've decided to change my life so count me in on this. I was an athlete in high school... 195lbs and 11%bf my Senior year... now after 7 years of a desk job and no exercise/eating whatever I wanted I got up to 265lbs and I'm tired of it! My goal is to be 195 and 10%bf by the end of the year.

I am so sick of losing then gaining it all back again.
I did a NitrogenWidget thread 6-9 months ago and lost 24 lbs. I have now put it back on.
The last day I hit the gym was the day of my interview of my new job (214 lbs). I gained very slowly at first. Enough to make me feel complacent anyway. I think I put on 15-20 lbs. in the last month alone and now I'm back at 240.
If I start now, I have 4 months until Summer. I won't be where I could have been but I won't be where I am now. If I can get below 200 by Summer, I'll be happy. It's just sad because my original plan was to be under 200 by NEW YEARS. Wtf is wrong with me.Last edited by wings_unhinged; 01-24-2012 at 08:47 AM.

I was in the Nov 1 - Feb 1 fat loss and was happy with how I held myself accountable on here.
I dont post much at all on here but I do appreciate all of the good info on here.
My biggest regret so far is not taking any before pics. If I get the brass to do it, might even post up on the "guess my body fat page".
Thanks again and count me in.

wings I feel your pain. I have lost the same 30-40 pounds 3 or 4 times. For me it's falling back into the fast food habit after getting stuck at the 203-205lb barrier. I am convinced now that loosing weight is 90% diet. calories in vs calories out. I spent last week reading the weight loss for noobs thread and those 3 rules are the key to our success along with the willpower to stick with rule #3.
I did the quit smoking thing several times and only succeeded when my brain finally keyed in on the fact I was actually killing myself slowly with the cancer sticks. This time around I'm keyed in the same way as I accept the fact that by being overweight I'm slowly killing myself with potential problems such as borderline diabetes and what not. Just like I have not smoked in 12 years I want to say someday I have been in great shape for 12 years.
It's not that anything is wrong with you wings, it's just that this weight management thing ain't easy and lots of us are in the same boat. Hence a thread like this could be a nice way to keep each other motivated, a place to turn when things get tough, a place to find support and know you are not alone in the Battle of the Bulge!Weighed - 281 lbs on 1/1/2012

Welcome back, though I wish it was for bulking.
I yo-yo'd a few times in my 20's & 30's & only now got it off & have kept it off.
I'm now mini-bulking before spring looking to put some lean muscle on with minimal fat.
As long as my strength increases & my 32's still fit i'm golden.
It's a lifestyle change I still cook my food like I was cutting I just cook more. LOL!
At my age I can't afford to let it all go.
I might not recover.
I got a desk job also.
I just lift heavy & track my cals.
I don't even do it every day now.
I just know how many oz of what I need to eat in order to be in a safe zone.

Duuude. You're in good company! And so what if you gained it all back. Put it behind you. Move forward. You CAN do this, you just gotta stick around. FWIW, I lost, swore I'd never gain it back, and just about did. I have new focus and new determination. We will rock this next challenge, and the next few, if that's what it takes!
Oh, but imagine the ooohs and ahhhas that will come when you're in top shape!Kristin "Never mind your failures today...get back on that horse and RIDE!"

STRONG this.
I could've been 203lbs or a bit less by now (which is what I was aiming for). I've stalled around 215lbs right now. Just incentive to go HARDER.
But only you can prevent forest fires. Remember that. Need to keep your head in the game and make a lifestyle change, not a "I kinda wanna get hotter/fitter" change.Proud member of Team Ogre

Sweet. I'm in the new year's thread that also goes all the way to May, but last time was awesome so I'm gonna do both threads.
Goals, let's see...so I pretty much got to my short term goal 170 lbs, but not quite there yet with bodyfat percentage. Looks like another 20 lbs of fat has gotta go! To 150 lbs, and to a sexy summer bod we go!!

I'm in! New member here... Just started working out 2 weeks ago after being out the gym for 5+ years. Doing a 3 day push/pull/legs weight split with cardio (mostly for cardiovascular benefit) 5 times a week. I put on roughly 70lbs last year after quitting smoking new years 1/1/11 as a resolution, although i was underweight at the time. Owe the weight-gain to poor diet, sedentary lifestyle and lots (and i mean lots) of beer. I am 25 y/o 6'3 ~255lbs atleast 25% BF if not higher. I have been running a diet with daily calorie intake around 2300 for approximately 10 days. Looking to drop down to atleast 100kg (220lbs, 35 lb loss) and then re-evaluate. Intake hasn't been perfect yet but improving daily. Been feasting on eggs, pasta, tuna, cheese, oats, peanut butter, low fat milk, protein shakes and lots and lots of water. Cutting beer out of diet and will only drinking mixed drinks on the 1-2 nights I do partake (just moved to Mexico for 6 months, gotta party a little bit). Will try and get a before picture up for Feb 1st! GL to everyone!

Yeah I really took it in the gut this year. To me, it looks like I am prego...
I purchased size 40 jeans this past summer cause my 38's were getting too snug and right around Thanksgiving the 40's were starting to get snug and I had to just put a halt to buying 42's. No more getting fatter than this. I have lost 10lbs since Jan 1 and I just tried my old 38's and I can't even button them yet. That's after knocking 1.5" off the waist line in 3 weeks! When I can fit in those 38's I wore for several years I'll know I am on my way for sure! On that day, I will go looking for the 36's that are stored in a tub out the garage.Weighed - 281 lbs on 1/1/2012

I am so looking forward to that day!
I have browsed all the transformations of the week on here and the fat to fit thread among others and I am really amazed and inspired. Especially with everyone's change in their face. Everyone just looks so much better without the big round face it's just the most amazing part of all the transformations in my opinion.Weighed - 281 lbs on 1/1/2012

This sounds great. Just what I need.
I'm new to these forums and amazed at the community surrounding it. Count me in.
I'm 5' 9", 180lbs @ 19.5% BF looking to cut to 10% BF by April... My wife earned an all expense paid trip for us to Cancun so I want to be in better shape than ever.
I've done the yo-yo weight cycle 3 or 4 times in the last 5 years reaching a peak of 235 lbs 2 years ago. I worked hard this last time around and have maintained around 175lbs -185 lbs but would like to take it to the next level. My goal is to be in the best shape of my life before I turn 45 in March 2013
Thanks

I had a few 44/46's at my heaviest because the majority of my fat was on my lower back & butt/thighs.
The waist wasn't super tight either.
I was in 30's over the summer but since I started bulking i'm in 32's because my lower body is coming up fast from lifting heavy & eating.
When I cut back down in the summer I should be back in 30's again.

I'm going to be using all free weights so i'll be substituting some stuff but i'll follow as close as possible.
I'll also be running on the treadmill a few times a week because I want to take it up in the spring.
I doubt i'll burn enough cals to not gain muscle though.
If I add just a little size to my chest i'll be very happy.
I primarilly just want to increase my strength all around before I cut again.
I don't expect to add a bunch of mass in two months.
Just a little so I have better definition when I cut back down to 165.

nice to see some motivated people in here, i have been cutting since March of last year and i weighed about 215 when i started and i'm 5'10" tall. i have been lifting for about 6 years steady but always was "bulking" even though i was fat as hell and didn't even know it, i went through and looked at pics and went "yikes"...
so i'm ~165 now with a little loss in strength (still can Bench 95 lbs DB's) and continuing until summer. i'm determined to be in the best loooking shape ever.
on a plus side note, i went to the doctor yesterday and i was on meds for high blood pressure and now i'm able to go off of it after a month of tapering down, just goes to show what losing some poundage can do!
good luck allAug 1 to Nov 1 Goal: Get down to <160 lbs
Start weight: 215lbs
Current Weight: 168 lbs
Goals for 2012/2013:
1.) Bench 150% BW (again)
2.) Squat 200% BW
