"Becoming a vegan had a profound effect on my training. Soon after going vegan, my bench press excelled past 315lbs and I noticed that I recovered much faster. In addition, my body fat went down and I put on ten pounds of lean muscle in a few months."

I suppose that if you did had a high quality protein diet you'd be fvucking superman huh?
ffs...

fatts1 is has no reputation, good or bad yet. (0)
I think it's quite an interesting article and inspirational for those of us who are training naturally without gear. There's a great website called 'beast strength com' where they talk in detail how to do some pretty impressive bodyweight exercises like one arm pull ups etc. although I'm not sure how useful that is for a bodybuilder...

My brother deadlifts 630lbs (raw- ie no webbing straps or powersuits) and has had an 800% increase in his squat on a vegetarian diet in the last 18 months. Also he's put two and a half inches on his chest- which was big before.

I'd post a link but am new here- you'd need to google 'ben france vegetarian bodybuilding'.

I will get him to also submit an article to the site about strength training.

Although getting the right protein from meat appears to be easier, if you are scientific about what you eat and research it well, there's no reason vegetarian diets will affect your training. The biggest factor is more likely to be your training routine; not the easiest thing to recognise when there is an easy excuse like having a vegetarian diet!
