This article is very interesting. It's a nice reminder for men that there are other muscles besides pecs and biceps.

The article failed to mention one important thing. WOMEN. We bodybuild too, we care about symmetry, and our views about what we should look like are often heavily tainted by poor self esteem and body image.

I would love to see an article that discusses female bodybuilding proportions. Maybe even take one of the female competitors who is widely regarded as symmetrical and produce a formula from her? I would love to see that.

Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. I think most people post their measurements flexed.

Ideal physique: measurements

There is NO way that by only the wrist measurement one can determine how a physique should look like - too many opther factors are involved. Somatology is a very complex study and the quantitative quality of aethetic pleasingness could often be different to ideal measurements. Some basic facts will remain to be used as a guide to determine ratios when a man develops his body wisely. I have studied this subject for many years and have compiled ratio charts : the original genetics of a man, his height and bone structure must be taken into account to determine ratios specific to an individual. The "natural" physique is the only true physique to use ratios. The drug enhanced physique is no longer pleasing to look at as it is freaky and far beyond functionability. I would gladly exchange my research information with other guys who are seriously interested in the human male physique as an art form. jaykayct@mweb.co.za
