I'm going to give it a try my next workout. I'm a hard gainer and need all the help I can get. I do hammers sometimes already, but, have not used this method with them. It's worth a session or two at the end of my normal routine to give it a try.

If you're talking so much about studies here and studies there, read up on the anatomy a bit... the brac attaches to the upper arm bone so arm position doesn't affect it. It is the biceps that gets pre-stretched on an incline bench. You should do your hammer curls spider fashion (leaning forward) instead, so the biceps' getting slack and the brac is forced to take a greater part of the load. I don't care what that MRI study says, it is most probably wrong.

Funny

X-REP Articles always make me laugh, want big guns? train light and with many reps (10-20) on excercises that concentrate arms best, like standing EZ-Bar Curl, One arm Dumbell Preacher Curl & Incline Dumbbell Curl (hands always faced out) Every rep should done slowly and same for the negative part.

Thumbs down Brachialis?

Looks like they confused the brachialis with the brachioradialis. Reverse curls? Hammer curls? The brachialis is only a subtle synergist for the reverse cable curl, the primary isolated muscle is the brachioradialis. I'm pretty sure the same goes for the hammer curl. Do people just make this stuff up as they go along? They should be ashamed for spreading this misinformation. I always train people to work out their brachialis to increase upper arm gurth, especially when their biceps brachii head is is attached to a scrawny base, but I tell them to do preacher, concentration, and prone incline curls (exercises that actually isolate the brachialis).

Hammer curls do not isolate the bicep, why not do these with regular curls?

Concentrated curls work much better for an isolation exercise.

I doubt they confused these two. The article is about upper arm size.... How would the brachioradialis be relevant to that?
