Olympia commentary
Since this is the first Olympia I have attended, I am not sure what proper protocol is. However, since Team Dixon excuses the way the fans acted at this year's event just highlights what the problem is with bodybuilding. There stands Ronnie Coleman (in the best shape of his life) and the so called 'fans,' (I'll call them ticket holders from now on) get up and leave. I was embarassed. Having dieted and trained for 5 contests myself, while also working full time (I am in the military, not a cop), I could imagine what he thought about these so called supporters of the World Series of Bodybuilding. I will continue to visit bodybuilding.com because of the great photos, but as for commentary, next time let somenone write it who actually went to the show.
P.S. Take a look at the prejudging photos, instead of showing pics of Ronnie relaxed and Kevin posing.

To see pictures of them at our booth at the 2002 Olympia Everyone has there own opinons on everything! People need to realize this! I think that Ronnie was not in the best shape of his life! He was much toner last year! Thanks to TeamDixon for their review!

"Yeah Buddyyyyyy!!! - Light Weight"
If your are as big a fan of Ronnie Coleman as I am, you will understand the quote in the title of this letter. I watch Ronnie's training video every day that I work out. I never get tired of watching this amazing athlete train for his sport in a way that no other human being is capable of. What is most impressive about him is the simplicity of his approach to bodybuilding: 1) Eat massive quantities of food like "good old chicken and bake potato with Masssapiece BBQ sauce"; 2) Lift "heavy ass weight" like 800 pound deadlifts and 500 pound bent over rows. 3) Do cardio twice a day - when you wake up and before bed. More of us novices should stop getting wrapped up in the latest fads sprawled over the hundreds of pages of crap in the BB magazines. We should follow the basic principles of our champion, Ronne Coleman. As much as I love the big guy, however, I felt very uneasy when I bought my program at this year's Mr Olympia and I saw big Ronnie listed at 258 pounds. I almost asked for my money back. I was sure that the numbers must have been transposed from 2-8-5 to 2-5-8. There is no way that Ronnie could have come to the show that small. Let's face it, all of the competetors at this level are expected to come in shape. What seperates the winners from the losers is who can pack the most MASS on the most SYMETRICAL frame and present it well. With 300 pound behemoths like Gunter and Marcus on the stage looking shredded, Mr O better come to the show with his best stuff. It pains me to admit that Ronnie Coleman failed to do that this year. As I looked at the competitors through my binoculars, Ronnie looked great, but he did not stand out from the others on stage. At 258 pounds, he looked the same size as many of the lesser athletes. If you are Mr O, you don't want to win by the peak of bicep or an extra striation in your pec muscles. You should come ready to cast a shadow over Kevin Levrone and Chris Cormier with the width of your lat spread. Ronnie is certainly capable of doing so, but he did not show us that form on game day. After the 'controversy' over his win last year against Cutler, he should have left no doubt this year. Unfortunately, he looks better in his training video at 285 than he did at the Mr O at 258. I can't believe I am saying this, but Ronnie Coleman was TOO SMALL. I agree with Team Dixon, Kevin Levrone was the best man on stage in 2002. But both of them better watch out for Gunter in 2003!

Olympia commentary
That's the problem with you guys, all you think about is size. That is not the only thing bodybuilding is about. I have one word for you both: LEGS! Look at the FLEX prejudging pics of his thighs and glutes, then compare them with anyone.
P.S. I would have rather seen Kevin win, or even Gunter or Lee for that mater, the fact is, Ronnie was right has never looked better.
