Protein Factory Fails Label Claim test
******** does it again
I was sent a protein factory sample from Tony1 and Dio. Dio's has not been finshed yet.
Tony1 sent a complete sheet of what his sample had. According to Protein Factory per 100g serving it would contain:
Calories: 375.29
Fat: 1.00g
Total Carbs: 5.14g
Total Protein: 86.28g
The test done by AAC Labs via AOAC lab testing produced this result:
Calories: 312.00
Fat: 2.13g
Total Carbs 29.7g
Total Protein 63.6g
Now I'm going to catch a lot on this I'm sure. I'll have the lab results scanned onto my website within 24h and you can see for yourself.
On another note I had Inlarge II and Isomatrix tested:
Isomatrix had 3g more protein per serving, .4g less carbs and 1g of fat more than label claim. It tested very well
NlargeII had an semi-odd result. They had 75.8g of carbs instead of 86, but had 66.3g of protein in stead of 52.
Just thought I would let you guys know

PF fails? Say it ain't so! If this is accurate, this is a real blow for those of us who like to buy protein on the cheap and customize blends. Yet again, the supplement consumer has been let down by a seemingly trustworthy supplier. The supplement business has got to be one of the sleaziest businesses around.

Even though I've never used them, disappointing to say the least.
Good job, Mike. Keep it up. The consumer deserves to know.

Thanks for the heads up. However, to be certain that your sample was not a statistical anomaly, further samples should be examined. Statistics are meaningless unless they can be replicated. (Yes, I'm a statistician.)

Mike, I just got one of your emails about this sort of testin you are doing. I'm wondering who is paying for these tests? Why have you decided to conduct them? Do you have another thread to direct me to these questions that you have already answered?
By the way, just wanted to say thanks for the orders I've made and it is great that you are doing these tests!!!!

********,
Do you know exactly what Tony1 ordered? Was it one of PF's standard blends or a custom mix? What flavor was used?

My web guy has just been sent the lab results and I'm attempting to scan the profile that Tony1 sent me. My scanner isn't working worth a crap. According the spec sheet it was a blend of:
30% casein
50% CFM why isolate
10% egg
5% Hydro 520
5% Fructose

I pay for the testing myself. As I get more turnover/sales I will do more expensive testing. I decided to do the testing a while back to see how some companies stacked up. I'm sure I'll be a favorite at the O now for sure.

Mike,
If you want to test some straight proteins and not a blend, I have Protein Factory's micellar casein and their Whey Isolate.

Yes this would be a good idea. Anyone who has ANY protein factory products, if you could send me at least 100g of each of your products along with a copy of your order (meaning exactly the breakdown you were supposed to get) then I'll get EVERY lot tested that is sent.
Please send to:
Mike McCandless
Unlimited Nutrition
158 Holly Hill Lane
Burlington, NC 27215
This will show how things test out over multiple batches.

Not down the drain, it could have just been 1 bad batch. Being a business owner I can't see how any would INTENTIONALLY underdose items. It could have been an employee mistake. We'll get some more samples and find out though.

You are right Mike, ontop of this, ************** has been known for messing up alot on people's orders.... maybe it was just that, I remember a while back someone posted he ordered so many grams of protein and got creatine instead... and there are many people who do say their orders end up mixed up.. well, lets see...
Next batch please, lol
Jay

Wow!!
They really screwed up that batch!
Anyways, is anyone going to contact PF? Tony1 in particular?
I bet people won't be so fast to reccomend ************** to newbies anymore!
They are are going to have to offer some sort of rebutal to this.
