Conflicting statements- Don't read this article
Am I reading this article right? First it says low dht is the problem, then it states an increase in dht is the problem. I cut and pasted these statements right out of the article:
Men with early hair loss were found to have low serum dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and normal or slightly elevated serum testosterone.
The trigger for this type of baldness is currently believed to be 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that converts the hormone testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which, in genetically-prone hairs on the scalp, inhibits hair growth.
So, first it says low dht causes hair loss, then it says testosterone being converted into dht, thus increasing levels, causes hair loss. Does this guy know what he's talking about?
