I write down my weeks performanc so that there is no excuses regaurdless of how I may feel on a particular day. its a way to constantly take steps forward and never take one back.
If I have written down that I benched 300 for 5 reps last week. I Know exactly wher to start. I don't need waste time Pyramiding up or "feeling" the weight out. My muscle were stong enough to do it before and they will do it again, I will not settle for anything less that my last performance.
it has nothing to do with forgetting what I did. I suspect this is the resaon many people write things down and not just to re mind them of how many reps they did.
