He says that after 45 to 50 minutes of cardio you run the risk of losing muscle. That's hard to believe. Perhaps that's true for someone not used to training for long periods of time, but longer distance runners and most certianly cyclists like lance armostrong himself when training for big races or the Tour, train in their respective cardio intensive activities for much longer than 45 or 50 minutes, and there's no way that people who are physcially as closely monitored as Lance and other cyclists LOSE muscle mass (certainly not in his legs) DURING TRAINING, resulting in less muscle for the TOUR! Their entourage of professional trainers and doctors wouldn't allow that. Well, not to mention the cyclists or runners themselves would notice they are weaker.
The issue must certainly be much more complicated than its presented in this article.
