Derek Beast Charlebois - Sesamin - Bye, Bye Fatty!
In order to successfully lose fat, one must create a stimulus that tells the body to burn more fat and to stop storing/trying to store fat. Sesamin, a lignan found in sesame seeds, has been shown to do just that. Learn more...

Good read, though how much sesame seed should be taken, when can it be taken for best results. If its in a paste form is that still benificial as taking it in seed form as I tend to make some sauces out of the paste?
Id like to hear some people who have used this as a supplement?
And finally is this mainly supplemented when you are trying hard to get from 10% to 6% fat?

No seeds or paste, a gelcap: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/sv/ses.html
Sesamin would be beneficial no matter what one's bf% is.

Since I began taking Sesamin a few weeks ago, I have noticed at times that I feel very hot when doing household chores and almost any other activity. It seems to be having a thermogenic effect. Is this possible???
Btw, nice article Beast!

Is sesamin better than the ehpedrine/caffeine stack or is it just another alternative?

I love sesamin. I definately notice an increase in the rate of bodyfat loss when I start taking it.

Yes, there are times when I feel hotter than usual when taking Sesamin. Others have noticed this as well.

Correct. Ephedrine will help fat cells release the fat so it can be burned while Sesamin will increase the body's ability to burn the fat.

I am poly's for ephedrine. Can't use it. Would ALCAR and L-CAR be a good alternative to stack with Sesamin to mimick the same effects?

Lean Green would be a better option IMO.

Thanks for the reply Derek. I am currently on Lean Green. Two capsules per day. Could I bump this up a bit with the sesamin during a pre contest phase? Or would something else work better to stack with the two supps?

Sesamin causes an upregulation of the enzymes involved in fat oxidation and a down-regulation of the enzymes involved in fat storage. Because Sesamin binds to and activates PPARalpha, you body won't adapt to it and sudden decrease the enzymes involves in fat oxidation and increase the enzymes involves in fat storage since Sesamin in directly activating PPARalpha. I see no reason to cycle it except for economical reasons.

Does Sesamin increase heart rate or anything? Or am I confusing it with something else? Also, why would it make you hot?

Sesamin does not increase heart rate and does not have stimulate properties.
It could make you feel a little hotter by increasing your metabolism.
