You have to be on steroids. Its bull****. no seriously...either you are just faking the whole thing or you are on steroids. With 12000 calories, you would be very FAT and not with 9% fat.

Even taking roids, you could not get those results in olny two years. Some people will do anything for some attention. It's pathetic, and the man probably believes he actually did it in two years, that's sad. How could you only bench 45 lbs. weighing 125 at 18 years old. Hell my sister benched 75 lbs. at around 130 lbs or weigh when she was only 15. His genetics suck if he could only bench the damn bar when he first started. Any girl in the weight room can bench the damn bar.

It is an amazing transformation. The question/comment I have is- 12,000 calories.......I have been trying to gain good mass for the past year and a half. I am not a hard gainer, in fact I gain too easily- but what I gain is fat. Last summer I was eating 3,000 calories and in 12 weeks I went from a 31 inch waist to a 38 inch waist. My calories were clean and everything. All I ate was chicken breast, turkey breast, tuna, egg whites and cottage cheese - everything PLAIN, as main protein sources, and occasionally top round with all the fat trimmed off. The only carbs I had were green vegetables, oatmeal, and wheat germ. That was all I was eating. I see his foods including milk, beans, and things outside what I consider "clean" (sorry but whenever I drink milk the fat just seems to pile on me- everyone claims it's so good, but for me it's instant fat gain). So really- 12,000 calories and staying under 10%.....I guess it's nice to be young and have a quick metabolism...lol just kidding......I was having a hard enough time keeping up with 3,000- in fact there were times I'd just vomit because my stomach couldn't hold it. I would like to see a few samples of what he was eating during the day and when- and for fun- how long it took him to eat. All he'd be doing all day is eating and cooking. Good article, but I would like to see those details.

"I remember I upped my calories up to 12,000 calories for a few months; during this period I made most of my gains, where I remember I would gain 10-12 lbs. a month! "

I don't know of anybody who could only bench the bar when they first started, especially an 18 year old.

I think this is a great message for all of the teenagers that read this article...
"I supplement and am on the massive eating diet that is enough for me and has helped me get where I am without anabolics. However, if you want to use them, learn about them, and do your research, then fine... go on ahead!"
NO! Don't friggin' do steriods! What a horrible message to the young. To bb.com, do you want parents to read this? What would their reaction be? My son is only 6 yrs old right now, but if he were 16 I would not want him to go to a website that would allow this kind of remark.

oh, now I get it
all I have to do is up my kals by 9000 a day, and lift hard every consecutive day (hit chest twice a week) except sunday. Ive been waiting info like this from an "all natural" bodybuilder for awhile now. What a silly dad, acting all concerned his son is juicing. Parents just don't get it. I mean c'mon, w/ all this great knowledge that natural bodybuilders have these days, it's perfectly normal to weigh 150 pounds more (fat free) than your old man did at the same age.

Obvious Garbage
No way he could gain that much naturally in such a little amount of time, especially someone with that poor of a genetic and metabolic disposition to begin with. He mentions gaining 40 pounds in a summer. Only with excessive amounts of steriods could someone gain that much in such a short amount of time. Even 40 pounds of solid muscle in a year is crazy, and for most couldn't be accomplished without steriods. Via natural methods, even 5 pounds of solid muscle mass a year is quite an accomplishment, forget 40 and forget gaining all that in just one summer.
The fact that at the end of the article he mentions how he's doesn't think using steriods is bad as long as you do "your research" should be a BIG HINT that he's lying about his own use of these substances. I think he's using excessive caloric intake just as a cover, to mislead people into thinking this is the reason why he gained so much muscle so fast, when in fact it was because of steriods or prohormones.
These "transformations" generate misleading expectations in hardgainers, because a lot of these "natural" bodybuilders use some form of testosterone, although they do not explicitly state this or lie about it in their profiles.

well, 12000 calries a day could do that, he must have a SUPER fast metabolism like mine where your body wants nothing to do with fat.......hes like me.....a metabolism thats unnaturally high.......maybe thats why he kept his fat low...its nto 9%, hes too smooth for that, but he still looks good.........most people probably dont have metabolisms like his.....to gain weight I need to eat about 6000 calries a day...and I still look skinny cuz of my long limbs and legs.....so, I beleive the guy, but think about it 12000 calires is ASTRONOMICALLY high and most people on a budget cant do that

To Willie INC
The reason you dont need 12000 calories a day is because you have an OPTIMAL mass gain metabolism. Not too fast, not too slow. That is very important in the world of bodybuilding. If you are gaining fat from 3000 calories a day thats great....then you DONT need to toture yourself with eatin 7000+ calories a day to make gains in mass or strength. On the other hand....a guy with a metabolism like mine and I assume his is or WAS must consume and literaly force feed ourselves in order to make gains of any kind. I HATE having to eat so much, it sucks and is a very time consuming and ANNOYING thing to do, but if I dont, my poundages go nowhere and I look like a stick. I once upped my calories to 6000 a day and I sure as hell gained alot of muscle, SOME fat(not like a person with a moderate metabolism would, jsut a little, most "regualr" north americans with slow metabolisms would be like 350 pounds of lard if they ate that much)....and I was drinking peanut butter shakes(half a tub of peanut butter with 3 cups or so of milk blended), tuna shakes, it was nasty. BUT.....I got bigger and stronger and people looked at me like I was in shape. Now that I eat around 3000 a day Im back to boney ole curtis. SO I can believe it....12000 a day is WAY extreme and hes getting extreme results, but size and muscle dont matter that much to me......I think for one person to eat that much its gluttony and its a PAIN IN THE ASS. Think about how much that is then come to your senses....hes prolly telling the truth but geez....forget about it.

WOW look at all these pathetic unregistered ppl bashing this guys, its funny ya know. Why not start appreicating rather than hating. What ever he did, or either he lied, or either he took roids, it dosen't matter atleast give that guys some props, that is pure dedication right there. You can tell this guy has potential all the way, he worked hard and got what he wanted.
I personally don't know if he took roids, whether he did on not, but the fact is that trans is amazing very inspirational, yes even I find it hard to beleive he never packed on fat from 12,000 kals which may show he were roids, yeah so maybe he is, that still dosen't give the rights for ppl to bash, u still have to work hard and bust ur ass off day in day out!

I'm going to make all you doubters out there cry. I actually attended Mary Washington (in virginia) and saw the transformation with my own eyes. This man would come to our lacrosse keggers with a gallon of milk in hand. I know it is very hard to believe, but it's the truth. I have seen, met, and lifted with this guy and it is pure determination and hard work. I knew his roomate very well and he would tell me how Brian would set an alarm every day for 1:30am and he would wake up and eat a meal that was aobut 1,000 calories. I love reading the posts you guys have submitted, because I can actually say that I saw this transformation take place. If you knew the guy, you would know that hard work resulted in this transformation.

not possible
Umm, no.
You can't force your body to build more muscle just by eating more. Your body will only synthesize a certain amount of protein, no matter how much food you eat.
Steroids allow your body to use more to build more muscle, so yea, you should eat more while using them, but even with steroids, AND good genetics, the transformation he claims just isn't possible.
I think he at least has the dates off. It was not all done in 2 years.
