Talking Inspiring

You look so different from your first pictures. I'm truly impressed. I have a 15-year old son who just read your article this morning. We have an Olympic weight set-up with several other pieces in our basement that my husband and I use to keep in shape for mountainbiking. Not even one hour after reading it he was lifting weights and he asked if we had any whey protein (which we do of course).

You look awesome (really!) and thanks for writing this on behalf of my computer-geek son.

I'm not wild about the diet or the training routine (chest three times a week?), but it's great to see someone replace smoking pot and aimless rebellion with weight lifting and eating right. It's more of a transformation of his mind than his body. I hope he keeps it up

way to go

its nice to see some fellow teenagers not piss their life away on drugs and what not. i know too many kids who are into the wrong lifestyle. hell, hockey team last year was probley the most talented group of individuals ive ever played with, all with division 1 potential. all of them were into the pot and coke and other stupid stuff and now theyve amounted to nothing, they go to community college and dont play anymore. its good to see your headed in the right direction. way to go.

huh

Its good and all that u are working out for a better life but it seems weird to me that ur preacher curl is at 125 lbs and ur lat pulldown is only 90 lbs. I dont understand how this works and how u could lift so much with preacher curls and not have any other big numbers on any of your other exercises. It is just puzzling to me. If anyone can explain this to me please do!

Way to much volume, your not overtraining yet because your brand new, but give it another 3-4 months and your gains will stop.

You outta knock it down to squatting 1 time a week, bench 1 time a week, workout max 3 times a week, and EAT EAT EAT.

For you its pretty much the key, if your not getting at least 220 grams of protein a day your fooling yourself of ever hitting the 200 lb mark.

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday

* Jump rope (until failure)
* Decline sit-ups (3 sets of 40)
* Bench press (4 sets of 5)
* Dumbbell flyes (3 sets of 8)
* Preacher curls (4 sets until failure)

Click Here For A Printable Log Of Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.

Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday

* Squats (3 sets of 10)
* Incline bench press (4 sets of 5)
* Decline bench press (4 sets of 5)
* Lat pulldown's (3 sets of 8)
* Jogging (2 miles)

Bogus

I dont want to be negative.... but
Im sory but some of those stats are bogus. First of all this kid says that he has been doing weights for 5 months, and in 5 months he has gone from 115 lbs - 160 lbs????? He has gained 45 pounds in 5 months, thats 9 pounds a month, I dont think so, especially on his diet.

On top of that the kids stats state that he could curl 3 sets of 8 at 80 pounds to begin with, thats at 115 pound body weight, unless this kid was Bruce Lee thats impossible. How strong was he when he was a "pothead"??? Now at 160 pounds he can curl 125 pounds, I allso highly highly doubt that.

Allso when he weighed 115 pounds it says he could bench 3 sets of 8 at 100 pounds, sory I allso dont buy that. A 15 year old who has never worked out, and is scrawny as hell is not gonna be able to bench press 80 percent of his body weight.
Maybe this kid is using a machine to judge his values, but all his numbers are too high. Incline bench of 3 sets of 8 at 80 pounds, before he started doing weights, when he only weighed a 115 pounds!!! I dont want to be negative but this kid is full of it!!!!!!

I think it's good that your working out and enthusiastic about it... But like some of the others said, Your workout schedule is plain horrendous. Working out chest monday through saturday is way of base. Also, there is no way your stats on preacher curls are correct. Now besides the negative aspects... You've still done good regardless. You're on the right track diet wise... just throw in a like two extra meals. I personally try to eat about 30 grams of protein every 3 hours.
