I dont really think this is a healthy way of transforming your body. Eating nothing for 5 days....then going to 500-1000 calories? This kid starved himself.

What the heck is with an ab workout for an hour and a half??

And where is the leg work?

I hope there arent any impressionable young people thinking this is the way to train/diet!!!

Exclamation no food for 5 days???

its cool the man obtained a goal, but realistically he prob lost alot of muscle mass in the process as well as may stiffle his gains.

the way he went about dieting is VERY much the same as yo yo diets. time will tell.

however posting a "transformation" where a person didnt eat for 5 days, just water, then going on a 500-1000 calorie "diet".... thats not about health and or bodybuilding.

might as well support lara flynn boyle and calista flockharts weight loss program.

like said its cool he got away from the alcohol and trash... but other than that...

LMFAO!

Wow, what a great training and diet plan. This is probably the stupidest thing I have yet to see on a body building related site.

No wonder people think bb.com is a joke, it's because they post retarded crap like that on their main page.

He didn't do back or legs and he does chest and arms twice a week. He's also doing 2 hours of cardio a day which isn't good for the muscle mass either. This shouldn't be on bb.com to give motivation to others. This is the kind of thing you want to avoid when you are trying to get in shape.

Thumbs down Do Not Follow This Program!

I don't recommend following this program AT ALL... too little calories!

Don't starve the fat off, WORK it off! I suggest reading "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venito (if I write his name correctly).

Great Transformation but could have done better with proper nutrition, supplementation and exercise.

I admire you for your hard work but I really dissagree on how you did it.

Thumbs down So sad

I am so incredibly disappointed in bodybuilding.com for posting this as the transformation of the week. Its hard enough to live this lifestyle and there are few places to go to get true support and encouragement. When you guys start posting this **** - what a shame.

Wow!!!

Ok, its me. The guy that did the most stupid and unhealthy diet possible. And yes, i totally agree with u all. It wasnt even diet, it was starvation. I did it before i even knew bb.com exists. And if i would tell u the reason why i did it u probably would think im an idiot, and maybe thats true. I found bb.com in january this year. Since that time im reading every possible thread, talking to people, geting opinions and help for which i am very thankfull. And after that i realized how stupid i was. Last year was hell to me. But im back on track. Im working out all the time but this time im making progress thanks to this web site. Maybe for all of u i am pathetic, anorexic etc. Well u r right at some point. I just didnt know that dieting is such a big word. I didnt know that bodybuilding is so complicated. Now after bulking (cutting at the moment), i can see results. I really feel much more healthy now and i am so happy i found bb.com. Its just sad that i sacrificed so much time and money and that i went thru hell to lose weight to see people talking about me as someone thats brainless...well, maybe u r right at this point too...

I'm guessing you did it because your girlfriend broke up with you. Secondly, if you didn't even KNOW about this site, why do you state in the article that you found this site when you first started out and this is where you got all your "great" advice?

Glad you are eating healthy now and are no longer starving yourself. It's not just you that these people didn't like. It was the fact that BB.com posted this article (crap article) as a GOOD way to do a transformation. Like it was something to be proud of. If anything it's basically saying that BB.com advocates eating disorders. On top of that they made it their "Transformation of the Week"

This picture you posted does look much better than the pictures they have posted for the article. Those pictures were horrible.

What the hell is this ????

You should be ashamed for putting this on your site ...

The workout routine leaves something to be desired, but the most attrocious thing is the diet this guy followed:

Only water for 5 days, then yogurt, one piece of furit, and a few slices of turkey????

Then "progressing" to 500-1000 calories a day????

No wonder this guy looks like ****!!!!

Sure you can see abs, but that is the beiggest part of his body!!!!!

The rest of his body is puny!!!!!

Take this down, before you give ant poor saps the wrong idea!!!!!

Talking Much better!

Your nutrition and exercise plan looks a hell of a whole lot better now! You should be gaining muscle mass, and that's the way to do it!! Good for you!

Sometimes, we have to learn the hard way and it's seems like you've learned a valuable lesson from your past experiences. Starving off the fat is definitely not the way to go, and food is just way too good to resist! :-)

Nutrition is 80% of the game (and some will argue to say it's even more, and I wouldn't disagree! *lol*).

I’m sorry that you’ve received some negative feedback about your transformation but know that we are here to back you up and help you in any way that we can…sometimes we have to take some constructive criticisms (which is at times hard to swallow!) to better ourselves mentally and physically.

I wish you the best in your future transformations! Stay HEALTHY, physically and mentally!

Wishing you the best,
Carole

Posting this transformation might have been the webmaster’s intention, to get people’s attention and learn some lessons through it. I think this transformation post has gotten a lot more feedback/attention then past transformations lately (including mine! Hehehe)  ironically, we like to “dip” into people’s bucket more then we like to “fill” it.

Anyway, I’m not terribly disappointed about this transformation being posted, but I do hope that people do read our “feedbacks”, and I say this with good intentions! There isn’t a “mean” bone in my body, but I am very opinionated.

Article Comments

Thank you all for your replies to the article, they will be very beneficial in the follow up article. We put this weeks 'winner' of the Transformation of the Week online as a resource for a follow up article on Dangerous Diets/Transformations and how to avoid them. It will also discuss the differences in how a diet can make the difference.

We should have put a disclaimer online when it went online, but I wanted to get some good feedback before hand. I did something similar to this earlier this year with:

HCF-1 Super Supplement: The Future Of Sports?
There is a new product in development, ready to explode onto the supplement scene and make all else obsolete. It's the newest advancement in science, and cutting edge technology to say the least...
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bobchic6.htm

then with a follow up:

Supplement Scams: The New Improved HCF-1.
In my last article, I introduced you to a new supplement, HCF-1. This all brings up a great question? just how do I know what to look for in a supplement, and how do I avoid being duped and taken advantage of?

Thank you for all your responses and will give a warning in the future.

Will
