Gee, I wonder if someone took the Max-OT training course?
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on almost everything. However, I think that if you going to regurgitate the things taught to you during Max-OT you should give AST a little credit. Otherwise I think you provide some very lost souls with a lot of good info.

i just wanted to add that i would not have posted that last reply if i didn't feel the same way about some of Eric's previous articles..........i think he should add somewhere in his articles that he lifts according to Max-OT principals; give credit where it's due.

I lift MAX-OT, yes. What does that have to do with the research I do for all of my articles. Every last one of the studies I have refferenced, I have read in full text and used them to write my own articles.
anabolic aerobics, th skinny on soy, how to make your supplemnts work...none of that came from AST. Someone asked me what my workouts are like and I told them, theres no shame in that.
And you'll notice when someone asked me what my diet was like, I specifically said VP2, or nytropro, not a "protein shake" or MRP. my diet looks like a marketing add for AST, You'll notice that I'm wearing an AST hat in 98% of my pictures. Didn't you notice the pictures of jeff willet in my article on the lats?... what are you talking about -give credit?
I'm not lying to you when I tell you I sit here are read studies in my spare time to make my articles the best I can. I don't steal information from anyone. When you start putting 5 hours of your time gathering research and reading it all to put together 1 article for $25 worth of supplements, we'll talk about regergitating.
MAX-OT is a free program and I wasn't aware that I needed to tell people that I train that way. I'll put a disclaimer on my articles saying that I do from now on.

eric, about all the whey protein. I'm not a big fan of consuming so much because whey hsa no anti-catabolic or time released properties. I was wondering why you take it so much as compared to a time released protein blend. I've read studies (which i can' reference, b/c i forgot where i found them) that noted that when people consumed whey up to 70% of the aminos were oxidized by the liver b/c of the quick amino spike that whey produced. Your thoughts? And while i have you...any tips on bringing out my vascularity for my contest, didn't know if you had any tricks up your sleeve.

Well don't worry I'm not going to callyour bluff on the matter of the studies I guess I should have clarified that you should be carefull as to HOW MUCH you do take in at one time. If your amino acid pools are saturated, yes the aminos will be oxidized, and thats why things like casein are good, because they aren't all dumpe in your system at once. however, taking like 1/2 serving of whey with your meals won't be to much and I think very little of it will ever be oxidized if any. However no one can besure if its the whey or chicken breast from the meal that is ever oxidized...that requires chemical markers and such that we just don't have at our disposal.
So really the more often you can eat and spread out your calories, the better off. I may eat about 400g of protein a day and 150-170g is from whey and thats between 8 different meals(even at 1am). I can't really garuntee that all of it won't be oxidized, but the study from med &sci in sport and exer was rather impressive and thats what they were instruted to do. There are somethig that the human body does that we just can't figure out why... we just know that it does. Its kinda like the insulin index. Even though things like icecream and milk are low GI, the jack your insulin up very high, don't know why..just does.
I'm not suggestion ALL whey, I have MRPs throught the day as well as whole food protein. Im just explaining that you CAN have whey protein other times of the day and gain very good results from doing so.
Vascularity...I've always been very vascular, even when not really lean for a show. you can see the veins running through my quads and calves all year long.
All i do do the sodium depletion and K+ Loading, cut water. And the hotter I am, the more they stand out, so I wear heavier clothing.

I didn't want to "mess anything up" so I work up pretty slow for3 days.
99mg every hour
rotate 99/198mg every hour
198 every hour.
The one thing that I didn't do was come off slow, BIG MISTAKE. You should try to do the exact opposite of what ever you did going up. whatever you do, don't just stop after the show.
I'm sure you know the exact details as to what happens, but i think your K+ levels drop too fast and you sodium level sky rocket and the water leeches out of your muscle cells and is held under the skin with all the sodium.
I don't know if thats right, but I do know that I looked like the stay-puffed marshmellow man for a couple days! I litterally jiggled when I walked.
not fun.

There, I indicated that I train Max-OT style on the article I just submitted. I hope this settles any confusion of "stealing" training principles or information there of.

You do not seem to be stealing anything at all. It seems to me that your citing correctly. It is good to see you cite primaries as a main reference.
