Derek Charlebois - Tuna, Yuck! How To Make Tuna Taste Better.

Tuna. One gram of fat, no carbs, and about 20 grams of protein per serving is what makes tuna a wise choice for bodybuilders, especially when dieting. But let's face it, by itself, tuna doesn't taste too pleasant. There are ways to get around this though and I've got a few recipes that will help without destroying the nutritional status of tuna.

tasty tuna option

I eat 3-4 cans of tuna a day, but I hate the taste, so here is how I do it...

Buy solid white albacore tuna in spring water. Mix in spicy mustard, a little italian dressing, louisiana hot sause, and low-sodium soy sauce.

This is delicious, and the albacore has a much milder taste.

Thumbs up

Good stuff man! I agree with the others as well. Tuna's great for you, but it does taste nasty after a while.

Tasty Tuna

There are endless options to make tuna taste better. Even if you are super-lazy, a blob of ketchup is enough to make it palatable. You don't even need to use a dish, you just eat it straight out the can!

For the more adventurous:

Simple yet effective: tuna mixed with balsamic vinegar

Super healthy and tasty: Chopped fresh coriander, lime or lemon juice, black pepper. Remember, citrus juice is great for you and digestion.

Frying tuna changes the taste so fry it in olive oil with onion. Black pepper to taste. Cumin or coriander also adds loads of flavour.

Tuna burgers: 1 can of tuna, totally squeezed of any water/juice. Mix with one egg, form into patties and fry until egg has cooked. Alternatively, take the tuna, add mash potatoes and a spoonful of flour to bind, form patties and fry.
