at 2000mg per day you start getting uric acid & oxalate in the urine which isn't a good thing.
at high doses vitamin C actually become s PRO oxidant rather than an anti-oxidant which can cause problems.

Out of curiosity, how would a pro-oxidant be helpful?

I've read a News and Observer newspaper article in the past that said that in high dosages vitamin C could actually cause damage, the opposite of its normal anti oxident effects..., but that this was controversial....The guy they mentioned in this article said he usually took 2 grams/day...the max suggested in the article was around 800mg or a gram I think.

I am the mighty pro oxidant. I am helpful in that I cause damage to DNA, lipids, and proteins. I help the cell signal apoptosis and die. Yes, I am that helpful. Although most people consider my effects harmful.
