Should have asked him how he feels about selling fake GH and getting busted for it and why he's not in jail.
Dave Palumbo indicted for selling counterfeit Serostim - growth hormone.
Dave “Jumbo” Palumbo as he is know through the bodybuilding world is one of the true “freaky” bodybuilders with over-stretched proportions and a freaky lean condition that stays with him even at well over 300 pounds.
Dave is or was the editor of a sporadic publication called Rx Muscle that’s primary theme is building muscle with the aid of pharmaceuticals. Dave is known as an “expert” in the real world use of steroids and other muscle-building chemicals and has never been shy about it. Some say he is a walking testament to performance-enhancing drug abuse.
All this being said, some find it no surprise that he was indicted for growth hormone distribution, but what is a tad surprising was that the indictment claims he distributed counterfeit Serostim (a form of human growth hormone). Now counterfeit does not necessarily mean fake, but let me tell you it’s much easier and far more profitable to make and sell a fake product than the real thing – especially when we are talking growth hormone. Why make a counterfit product in the first place? - to make people think it is the real thing. Selling fake growth hormone won't make a person many friends but it will create alot of enemies.
Now is certainly not the best time to be busted for selling performance-enhancing drugs with the current climate the way it is. I would imagine an example will be made.
Drug dealing aside, Dave is a nice guy and almost everyone that knows or has met him will attest to this. It’s unfortunate that he’s mixed up in this, but we all make our own beds. At 36 years of age Dave should have known better.
