So basically AMPK activation causes your body increase fat burning while sparing glucose. This is one reason why low carb, UD2, and other carb manipulation diets work well.

And it's much better than alot of those crappy articles that come out these days.

Basically AMPK is the energy senser of the cell. During workouts ATP (your energy currency) gets low and this activates AMPK. AMPK activates a bunch of other machinery (enzymes) that increase fat burning and glucose uptake.

I noticed you didn't mention it's effect on mTOR. Left out that little bit did ya Derek!
