This is quoted from the article:
For example, dwelling on a negative event while trying to apply maximal intensity will take the mind (arguably the most important muscle-building organ) off what is to be achieved - namely, a complete connection between mind and muscle. Speaking about ones body in negative terms will also impede progress. The body should always be spoken about on a favorable light, without losing sight of exactly what needs to be improved upon.

This is my question :
However, i uncontrollably quiver at the thought of pushing myself to a 110% effort, figthing hard and trembling and struggling to lift the dumbbell overhead when doing dumbell presses during my deltoid training. This makes training deltoids undesirable. Sometimes i tell myself "why not jus put in 80% effort for the DB press later on so that training would be desirable and easy?" However, putting in only 80% wouldn't spur any growth, would it?
Is there any advice u can give me to avoid this ??

Applying 100% is precisely what it takes to be a champion in any sport. Most of the top bodybuilders work extremely hard and if they didn’t their results would probably be mediocre at best. Try training with a partner to push you on.

I don't hate it, it certainly has it's uses; but not for skeletal muscle and certainly not the way all of these supplement companies pimp it.
