uhm...
you do realize that most of that article was 'his' take on arm training, and only that, yes? Everyone's bodies are built differently. Genetics determine the overall shape and placement of the muscle on your body. For many people, genetics have shoveled and patted down that muscle and bone in positions just so that certain exercises and forms may and may not work to correctly train and fatigue those muscles. He doesn't like to stand while training biceps, but many of the same problems that can come about from standing can still surface from the seated positions as well. In fact, while doing seated dumbell incline curls, many people swing dumbells to and fro with greater ease than a super model sticking her finger down her throat. Many people are able to lay their shoulders down and back, keep their elbows moderately close to their sides, and still perform standing curls without throwing out their back or even swinging the dumbells. People always preach "ALWAYS maintain strict form"
but heck....i'd rather hear people teaching others how to achieve strict form. Too many people have vague perceptions of 'proper form'. There are entirely too many 'gym gurus' at my LA Fitness that possess form......improper form.
But it's all opinion. Myself? I prefer seated bicep training with dumbells, standing with cables.
