Thumbs up Reverse Pyramiding

I think Randy said it best when he indicated we all respond differently to various exercises and techniques. I've personally been doing reverse pyramiding for most of my adult life, and wrote Randy to commend him on the article. It is the staple of my training regimen.

I'm a natural ectomorph at 6'4" tall. I've never been able to add much additional weight on progressive pyramid exercise sets. I found that if I did a set of 10 to failure, I could only do the same weight perhaps 8-9 times on the next set, and perhaps 7-8 times on the third set. I always attributed that to having long, thin limbs.

But I was glad to see Randy espousing this reverse pyramid technique. Aside from being able to push more weight around during a training session, finishing off an exercise set with 1 or 2 sets of higher reps gives a tremendous pump.

Even if it doesn't become your main training scheme, I'd highly recommend everyone try it awhile just to do something different for a change.
