Hello, I'm 16 years old (About to turn 17), 5' 4 and I currently weigh 85 pounds. I have access to some free weights that only go up to 30 pounds since I never really took bodybuilding seriously. I wish to gain more muscle and strength without the use of supplements. What would be the appropriate exercises and schedules needed to gain such achievements? My goal is to reach at least 120 pounds, if not, more since I'm as thin as you can possibly imagine.

Thanks in advance.
-William

Thumbs up back fat exercises

To get rid of back fat you should use resistance bands , there are many different exercises u can use with them for the back. I did and it works really great. You can also use the ''ab slide'' that is great for back fat but, the bands work faster.

Back Fat and Bowflex response

Bands as well as the bowflex are a waist of your time and money. As a current med student in cardiology at the Mayo Clinic and a CSCS and NASM personal trainer- it is of my knowledge that both of these focus of the concentric contraction when in reality and for best results it is the eccentric loading that provides the best results. The muscle needs to be overloaded during the eccentric phase. Progressive training has no literature on its success and it is simply for the reason that it's no good. For you trainers that didn't go to school or got lucky at Bally's etc got your job by looking good- read up on what you're teaching. Lastly, those of you who are looking to gain weight- talk to a doctor he'll know more.

Question Do I Have To Work My Legs?my chest?

I am in the same situation as whoever asked this question,
My legs have always been naturally muscular and wll defined, zero signs of becoming " the best chicken legs of all time " even if a would never work them out. My upper body structure is pretty good and I usually only do upper body workouts in the weight room, altough I never work my chest muscles because they are also natuarlly muscular and have always been this way.
My traning consists of 45 min of boxing followed by 45 of weights. For warm up I strech and do balance and 70 pushups every day before I start.(30 years old)
any advise.

In this article some good points are made, although in my practice I have found that people often over step their boundaries of expertise. I am a Doctor of physical therapy and I often refer patients to others who are best sooted to deal with the problem. A sign of a sound competent practitioner that has his patients best interest in mind is one who knows his boundaries. no where in this article does Josh mention that the appropriate health care practitioner should be consulted, in this case a physical therapist. Chiropractors are savvy businessmen who often misuse their power by not putting the patient in control of his problem. Ever wonder shy a chiropractor makes you come back to him for months? In reality, no outpatient medical complication should require more than 10-15 sessions, and all sessions should be focused on empowering the patient through knowledge of his/her problem and knowing when adequate referral might be necessary.

This article and John Henkin would have much more credibility in my mind if he said the words "seek the advice of a rehab specialist for the answer"
