So much information is available on the promising results from stretching. Moreover, there is very little information on the NEGATIVE effects of stretching.

That study was done with people stretching BEFORE exercise. Of course it is going to reduce strength, it is like pre-exhaustion. That is why you stretch AFTER training.

i definately stretch after exercise

in fact what is the point of stretching before training? a warmup does exactly that, prepare your body for the exercise you are about to partake

stretching after youe muscles are warm and used is not only logical, but appears to be safer

I think this article on stretching is great! Thank you very much! I 100% agree based on my own experience and that of my clients.

Look for my article that will rebuttle this one and make me look like the Johnny Cochrane of bodybuilding... Simply put, my evidence will completely explain my logic... Stretching is good and should be done... not before, but definitely after and on off days... Can't wait to write the article...

Stretching should be done before by anyone who doesn't compete in strength sports.

It reduces the risk of injury by warming up the joints through their full ROM.
It also aids hypertrophy by expanding the muscle fascia which is subsequently engorged with blood during the workout.

Stretch BEFORE you lift. There is no point in doing it after. If you train properly, you will be so sore and broken down after lifting that how could you possibly get a good stretch?
