Hugo Rivera - Prescription For Fat Loss!

One thing that I notice is that people are really confused about the way to get rid of their body fat. Infomercials that appear on T.V. as well as articles written in magazines have less than up to date information. In an effort to eliminate this confusion, this week I will share the 7 rules of fat loss.

Hi Hugo!

Just like to clarify something. I thought you're not suppose to do weight training on an empty stomach because it's counter productive? They said it'll use your muscle for energy due to food depletion overnight? That, it is always best to eat carbs before an intense work-out? I maybe wrong here but, I would just like set things straight. With cardio first thing in the morning I have to agree, that is the best!

Well, there are 2 schools of thought on the empty stomach or eat before cardio thing. I've done it both ways, and now I just do on empty stomach if I'm not hungry before cardio, and if I was hungry, I eat a little before cardio. I'm not a pro nor will I compete, and so when I'm out for fat loss, I'm not going to go nuts trying to figure out which way MIGHT save an ounce of muscle. I didn't lose strength cutting either way, and my fat still came off both ways. So I don't worry much about either way.

And when I cut, I do stick with everything the article says to do, except for going to bed early.

hugo's advice

i've slowly come to the conclusion that all the research in the world is skewd. what works in the real world is to apply the principles that have worked for other people. i can attest to the fact that the principle's Hugo talks about work. my girlfriend got me the "body sculpting bible for men" which Hugo co-authored for Christmas. i followed the advanced workout/diet beginning the first of this year. the results? i went from 188 lbs. 25% bodyfat to 174 lbs. @ 13 % bodyfat in the first four months (thats a GAIN of 9 lbs. lean weight while losing 23 lbs. of fat!). i'm telling people about this program all the time because it worked miracles for me. is it easy? hell no. i was training twice a day six days a week, writing down everything i wrote 7 meals a day. was it worth it? hell yes. during the month of May my job demands took my focus from my diet and exercise, but i pretty much maintained myself. now i'm hitting it hard again through the end of June. Abs are what i want so my goal is to be at 10% bodyfat or less by the end of this month. looking at his pictures what he's doing has worked for him, and I can attest it works for me (cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach/ weights at night).
