Some great insights here, specially about the change, Bob.
You're right about getting in the mainstream or getting the general public interested in the sport, to get more pay off. But HOW!!??
I noticed that a lot of sports, generate a lot of income because young kids are enticed to participate in the game/sport. Take basketball for example. Athletes/players get an enormous amount of salary because there's so much sponsors around it. From softdrinks to fastfood chains. Million dollar companies are willing to shell out a lot of cash because they know the returns are huge as well. Schools even let the children play the sport at their tender age. Parents pay camps to let their children learn how to play the game. They even buy them game wear to use while practicing.
Bottom line is, there are no "secret" to the sport to get an advantage from other athletes. Except for natural talent to shoot the ball, or catch or pass in other sports (like baseball, football). It's basically discipline and practice in order to excel in any sport. (mostly) Then someday when they're old enough, they will get to play in the big leagues and hopefully get scouted and land the million dollar contract, plus endorsements. Simple.... everybody understands how to get there. Nothing illegal or something to hide about. Like you said no SYNTHOL. In the mainstream, who really understands this term. As far as I know any average guy that you show a bodybuilders physique they will either tend to look in disgust or simply ignore the hard work done to achieve this great physique. And worst dimiss the whole thing by saying it's all drugs!!
WOW, what ever happened to low carbs, waking up early in the am for an hour of cardio without any food in the body? Or what about moving those hundreds of pounds just to get in this shape? Or what about the sacrifice of family and loved ones, just to hit the gym? See this things need to be addressed in order that the general public can better understand. But at the same time it's really near impossible to explain to them something about what they can't understand (drug use) worst if it's not even legal, or when people will actually disappear because apparently they were in jail. Now who would want that for their childrens future? Definitely not the million dollar companies.
Just a thought..........

what new
Why not go back to weight classes? If you choose to be 300lbs and 5 feet tall, so be it. Or a combination of height and weight.
