You'd actually be better off not training to failure, using more sets and less reps, and eating everything not nailed down.

Any links to show the reccomended exercises for a beginner? I am a skinny guy just getting started. Would love to have a basic "workout program" that incorporates your article into an actual plan.

mix it up...do a different number of sets/reps each time you work that body part...eventually you'll find a favorite that makes you feel like you accomplished the best burn but keep changing it up.
