Layne Norton - Let The Countdown Begin: 16 Weeks Out!
I have decided to start cutting at approximately 22 weeks out this year and only lose 1-1.5 lbs per week. I want to leave nothing to chance...

Layne's already shown his proof.
Why don't you address the issue with *me* if you're so sure of yourself?

Layne is the one that started this and the whole HIT is so wonderful idea on this forum. Its sooo fun seeing his ass get handed to him.
Layne has shown ZERO proof on how it overtrains the body, what are you going to do about leg workouts and how that and overtraining plays a role in working out. As I said I believe those stuides not only address those issues but the people just did HIT cardio and no lifting weights. Real smart layne, giving us crappy research with holes in it.

It's quite effective for sprinters, who consistently mix lifting with HIIT.
Why don't you go tell them what poor condition they're in?

Hey , its HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING, thats HIIT not HIT, HIT is a whole different topic id love to discuss with you.
What do you know of overtraining? Or overreaching for that matter? Your a bit behind on your research, I have YET seen anything relavent from anybody on this topic other then those Pro HIIT, so please.. attempt to prove us wrong!

Last time i checked sprinters train for one thing, to run faster. Not maintain overall body muscle.
I do not need to show any research as I support Bob Chick. Its Layne mr 15 inch guns who acts tough against Pro's that needs to PROVE him wrong. Which he has miserably done.

You talked about all this research to prove us wrong, where is it? Does it exist? Stop being a coward and discuss this with us, if your going to take shots at Layne or us in not knowing anything then be my guest in proving us wrong, dont just say "i back up a guy that wrote an article with no ref."

Err...you seem to be mistaken, about yet another thing. You're sitting on a non-existant high horse over events you've apparently deluded yourself into thinking have taken place.
Now if you'd actually care to argue as to how a sample size of n=1 at the elite level of a sport (Bob, since you don't seem that bright) translates to anyone else, when every observation (the HIIT studies) says otherwise....I'd be really glad to see it. I enjoy magic tricks.

My purpose was that laynes research has holes in it and doesn't tell the whole story. I support Bob chick.

Which is exactly why I made the point about sprinters. Sprinters *do* carry large amounts of muscle and low levels of bf.
I haven't even gotten into the point about Olympic weightlifters....those guys carry very large amounts of muscle and in non-SHW classes they are generally quite lean.
Both groups of athletes aren't very far removed from a competing BBer in terms of leanness, so that shoots the entire argument out the window.
