I decided to write this article to show how a woman should train and at the same time dispel some of the common misconceptions regarding female trainees...

I thought this article was rather offensive.
"Regardless of how you train, how often you train, how much protein you eat, etc, you're not going to even come close to the big, bulky physique of a female bodybuilder. It will not happen. That look is only obtainable by one means: steroids."
So ALL the female body builders are on steroids? Really!

no where in the article does it say that all female bodybuilders are on steroids. However, it is implying that female bodybuilders that are big, bulky and carrying as much muscle mass as some male bodybuilders. There is a difference.

Great article...
I was happy to see that someone has a different opinion on how a woman should train to get lean, tight muscles. I just recently started back to lifting weights, I have always been able to lift heavier than the average beginner. I have also had people tell me that if I kept going that route I would have big muscles like a man. I have finally decided to ignore those people and do what I think is right for me. I am very happy lifting heavy, light weights do not seem to do anything for me. I just want to say great article, I feel even better about how I work out.

A desirable female physique is one that can only be achieved by moving some serious iron in the weight room!
|
That's plain and simple incorrect. All of the girls/women I have desired have, as far as I know, never lifted a heavy weight in their life.

Thanks for a great article!
I started a blog on women and weight training a few days ago and will link to your article if that's ok.
I can confirm every thing you say, although I have to admit that I don't do squats and the likes because of "doggy" knees. I do, however, lift weights that are heavy for me and have won the women's bench press competition in my local gym last week.

Thought the article was great
I just happened to come across this article. funny thing is that I was one of those women a while back that thought if you lift heavy you will get huge. I was very confused on do I lift heavy and less reps or light and more reps. I have been training for over 2 years now. Not to be a body builder just to be fit and tight. At first I believed all of that non-sense but my friend set me straight and explained that lifting heavy will not make me huge and I was wasting my time doing light weight, more reps. Its definitely a common misconceptions. So, just want to say thanks for the article I look forward to reading more.
