Peter Knopfler - Food Connection To Biology!

This is important information on who you really are and how you fit into the universal puzzle, and your relationship to the planet through the act of eating. There is not any other way as of yet that we survive without eating, so we live through our mouth...

Well....Not Quite

You kinda of went off on a rant about food being the cause of cancers. Thats nearly impossible to narrow down because cancer is a mutation of one's DNA. Many things can lead to these mutations. To say it is soley cause be improper food combinations is obsurd.

Im a little confused on the whole not mixing grains and starch....as far as I know grains are starch. Starch is the plant's storage of carbohydrate.

The whole food mixing thing has been tossed around before and I still don't quite see it happening. There are many foods out there that are a combination of two or all thre macronutreins.

And moreover, your run down of digestion wasnt very accurate. The acid in the stomach to basically liquify solid material into Chyme. This liquidy material is mixed wtih proteases to breakdown peptides into amino acids. Very little carbohydrate digestion takes place in the stomach it self. those enzymes are destroyed by the acidity of the acid.

The chyme is released into the small intestine. The Chyme it self is very acid, and the small intestine isn't designed to with stand such acidity. So it realases the other "digestive Juice" you refered to which is highly alkaline to neutralize the Chyme. Here more enzymes to breakdown the remaining CHO are relased as well.

There is no "confusion" its a rather systematic process.

interesting theory

Enjoyed all the info. But on the romans dying sooner strictly based on diet may be a stretch. Other factors such as stress environment (y tu brutus) and plain old sanitation are factors in lifespan. I have heard a great deal about food affecting lifespan in the significant way you described. Eventhough I find the theories relevent im eating meat for protein. It will be interesting to see what more studies on the subject will reveal. Hell I may become a veggie builder.

good article
