Is Low-Carb Really The Way To Go?

The latest trend in the area of weight loss is low-carb diets such as the Atkins Diet. In order to help clear the air, I'm going to dispel some of the myths that are floating around and give you some facts backed up with real science on how the human body actually metabolizes food.

This acticle sucks. Most people now carbs do not get stored as fat as he said in the article. If you eat carbs and fat at the same time you will store the fat more then likely. Plus all low carb diets are not the same and Atkins is not a good diet for someone lifting weights. Now if you look at a CKD or TKD there good diets for people lifting weights.

Atkins

Yet another writer confuses the 2-week induction period of the Atkins diet for The ENTIRE Atkins Diet. Carbs ARE allowed after the induction period! Really! And I can tell you from personal experience that, while the weight loss might not be 100% fat, you DO lose fat on a low carb diet. Whether or not it's a good diet for a bodybuilder is still open for debate.

First even during induction carbs are permitted. 20 carbs are allowed for the 2 weeks and then you start adding them backing into your diet and stop at the point when you stop losing weight.

Second this article mentions multiple times that weight loss on atkins is nothing but water weight and there is no one that has measured fat loss while on the diet. I lost 65 lbs on Atkins (ya think it was 65 lbs of water?) Also I went from a body fat percentage of 32% to 12%.

Now that I'm at goal weight and want to get more into body building, I'm not sure if this is the ideal diet to follow or not but the above article is just totally wrong.
