A very good article Derek... VERY good. You display an excellent understanding of metabolism and insulin signaling... which is not easy to understand. One thing though... when you abbreviated a system such as ATP-CR... I know what your talking about but everyone else might not know what CR stands for so for the first time you use it you might do something like ATP-CR(ATP-Creatine) something like that. Then use the abbreviation for the rest of the article.

Great Job,
-Layne

GOOD READ!!!

I do have a few questions though. You give pre, during, and post W/O shake formulas and I noticed that in your preworkout drink you say to include .15-.2 X bodyweight of EAA on top of 5g BCAA.

Do you suggest that a person should buy the EAAs isoleucine, leucine, and valine seperately then mix equal proportions of each, then take a 10-14g serving from that?

Or would a product such a Xtreme Formulations "ICE" be more practical.

I suggest Xtreme's Vendetta and ICE. I will be following this exact protocol after my next contest. I will be keeping an online journal so we can see this protocol in action.

I started taking Vendetta 2 weeks ago, and love it! I have been taking ICE during my contest prep. There will be more article in this series coming soon that will further support this setup.

Awsome article - I thought you did a good job of taking something quite technical and break it down for somebody with limited knowedge of the subject to understand

Thank you. I haven't been able to muster up the concentration to finish up Part II (Dieting sucks) but hopefully I will have it done by the end of next week.

Question Couple of questions...

why glucose before workout? wouldnt that cause' an insulin pic and give only strength at the workout's beginning? why not a low GI carb like oats? isn't supose to train with empty stomach so you can use all possible blood at muscles you are working out? answers please.

The best Regards, KaBeRnA (kaberna2002@hotmail.com).
