Some of my best gains....
My best gains were made after I was wrongfully fired.
Here I was this suit wearing clean shaven guy one day. By the time my wife got home from work I was bald with both ears pierced and a tat on my shoulder. Not to mention a packet from the unemployment office that stated I had 1 year if I qualified and I did. The company knew not to fight it because what they fired me for was B.S.
With my that paycheck I payed for my gym membership for a year bought all the supplies I thought I would need (Food, MRP's, Protien powders) and it was on!
In three months I went from squating 225 for reps to 405 for reps. People that knew me thought I was on roids. But I was on something better Anger and hate.
WEW I'm get high just thinking about it thanks for reminding me of the power of RAGE ....
I'm going home and tell my wife I'm sleeping with her sister. Then I'm going to the gym!

"One of those connotations is the angry lifter. Every gym has at least one but most have many. He is the one beating himself up in the locker room before coming out with bloodshot eyes and sweat pouring off his face; a true warrior on his way into the middle of a battlefield surrounded by complex machines and tons of iron and steal.
He is the one speaking quietly to himself at times and screaming at others. The one you see under 1,500 pounds on a leg press machine struggling with every last myofibril in his muscle to move the ¾ ton of overwhelming iron plates hovering above his angry body and not giving in until his blazing soul gets that last part of his rep with the help of his fierce and passionate desire. "
Basically he is the selfish ******* who makes working out a nightmare for the rest of us.

Amen to that.
The funny thing is that most of these guys spend more time and energy stomping around and making noise between sets then they do on the actuall sets.
Once I realized, and learned, to get the same results without all the bravado by staying in myself the entire time I worked out things got a lot easier, and much more for fun for everyone.

Problem is it's a communal kitchen and we all have to use it that said you don't seem to be yelling too much and it's not peak time. However,you certainly are doing some stomping

hey man, I respect people who like to lift quietly and don't get into it or whatever, that's cool, that's their thing. This is my thing, this is how I like to do it and I really let myself go and lose myself. So I would like a certain amount of respect from others for the way I like to do it.

The Gym is my Prozac; I shall not want.
The Gym maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
The Gym leadeth me beside the still waters.
The Gym restoreth my soul:
The Gym leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of the lazy worthless bastards;
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy straight bar and thy dumbbells they comfort me.
OK, I'm a little out there.
Put me down as an angry lifter.

When i used to max every other day and add huge amount of mass i would totally psyche myself out, yell, grunt, my lifting partners would call me names, and slap me to piss me off. Then with that rage i could deadlift 500+, dumbell press the 120s, curl 180+.........
Today though i lift silently, calmly, and do slow reps even when maxing.
