"First off, 17 alpha-alkylated steroids are hepatotoxic in high dosages taken for a long time. On the other hand, short cycles and small dosages appear to be perfectly safe. I suggest that maximum dosages should be 500mg to 900mg per day. They should be cycled for perhaps 8 weeks at a time, and if needed a 3-month break from them should be used. Using the above-mentioned techniques, your liver can be healthy for a long time. "

This must be a typing mistake. This is simply bad advice IMO for a multitude of reasons. I just hope nobody followed this advice. Hopefully people are getting their liver, blood, hormonal levels checked if they are going to use potentially harmful substances.

Angry

This smells like unqualified medical advice to me. Putting a disclaimer at the top of the article does not make it alright. Tell me your lawyers reviewed this content and are ok with it? Even if so, it is ethically shady to post this kind of stuff.

The author of the story advising people that it may be ok to take this drug is not a doctor. Neither are we, the readers, educated to evaluate various studies and make a medically sound decision. This is little more than an opinion piece with fancy footnotes.

Will it have been worth it, bodybuilding.com, to have one or more of your readers lose their liver, and thus their life, over such irresponsible articles?

C'mon Bodybuilding.com, let's exercise some better judgement than this.

Yikes!
Not so simple AFAIK I know someone who is involved in research in this area. By no means will you run into severe liver problems with infrequent short term use and a healthy lifestyle. However what constitutes a healthy lifestyle to many of the people who study this area is very strict. Binge drink once or twice a month and even infrequent use of 17-AAs down the road is not a walk in the park. The conditions that effect the livers ability to handle many compounds is so long that to achieve the lab tested safety of 17-AAs would be very hard. Again there is a reason that despite lab results to the contrary real life use of 17-AAs can beat the crap outa your liver, the reason, your life is not as simple or monitored as a lab rats or someone in a hospital bed getting oral steroids to help them recover. The guy looks at the data and forgets that one thing it seems.
