Thumbs down

It's a shame how Dan speaks about steroids back in the seventies...
Is great to read stories about the golden era, but is a shame when people just dont say the truth... Mmm, by the way he doesn't remember the reason why lou became angry with him...why??

I remember the last time I read a Dan Lurie interview he was critizing the Weider bros. (I would do it too but looks like Dan is angry with everybody involved in BB in the old days. A man at his age should be enjoying the life and not against everybody...

very interesting read, I remember reading a book that lou ferigno came out with in the 80's that I got a my local library and it stated that Lou refused to take steroids in the 70's because his father was a cop and he would tell Lou of all of the horrible things he would see happen to kids who were doing different types of drugs in the 70's. I always wanted to believe he was natural in Pumping Iron, but now I know the truth...

Are you serious? Everyone back in those days took steroids because they were legal.

Anyway, I know lots of people supposedly have bad experiences when meeting Lou, but I've never had one. People get upset because he charges 20 bucks for an autograph. Ok, guess what? I've been to an expo and EVERY SINGLE PERSON charges for autographs and they were ALL between 15-25 bucks.

As for going with Wieder, I congratulate Lou and all the bodybuilders who did the same. The AAU was notorious for putting bodybuilding on the back-burner and the president of the AAU even stated a whole bunch of sh*t about bodybuilders.

It was an interesting read though. One thing I didn't like though was where he states that Lou filed a lawsuit against him, but he never said what it was for...

And also I just didn't like the part where Dan states that he's surprised that Lou doesn't have steroid related complications today. For someone who spent so much time with bodybuilders he seems kind of ignorant about steroids. Arnold doesn't have steroid related complications, and I'm sure Bill Grant doesn't the last time I checked. In fact, all the people who have had "steroid related" complications were usually on a massive cocktail of drugs, some even illegal recreational ones.

How do you know that Arnold doesn't have any steroid-related complications? Or even Bill Grant?? Are you an intimate friend? Or do you just assume that if they did have complications they would be made public?

Arnold has had a quadruple bypass, FYI. While there might not be any public proof as to the cause, it's got to make you wonder....

You seem rather hypocritical with your own ignorant assumptions: "All the people who have had any steroid complications....". I mean, c'mon dude. I'm all for the legalization of steroids. Let the idiots who abuse them kill themselves; I consider it natural selection. HOWEVER, just about any such drug can possibly have side affects, even in moderate doses. That is why it is suggested that everyone who uses takes the appropriate doses, proper PCT, diet, time off, etc....info that bodybuilders in the Arnold and Lou's time weren't quite as privy to.
