knee surgery

Wow you took a huge risk doing what you did but I'm sure glad it all worked out for you....I'm 5 years post acl/pcl reconstruction-partial meniscotomy, one year later 2nd surgery for debridment. 1st one was using my own patellar tendon and middle third of pateller for bone to bone graft for acl and tendons from hamstring for pcl. 5 years later after many months of extensive surgery and training...I'm no better than before....lots of buckling and pain...I keep training though, doing light weights, most of my therapy exercises and mostly closed chain exercises, such as biking and eliptical trainers....Have spoken to few people that have had donor tendons for acl with great results...I'll be 40 in march of 2007, am a former amateur bodybuilder , I'm 5' 9" and weigh 220lbs with body fat of 14% ...Just thought I'd share my thoughts and hope your training is going well and I'm glad your health is doing well also!

First off, I would suggest getting in physical therapy and doing all the needed therapy first before doing anything on your own. I went through it and it sucks!

If you need more info, WebMd has a great article on it:
