Steroids and hormones are the mirage! People think that if they take them, then they will look like the guys in the magazines, the pros, the elite. Truth be told, do you think that those guys buy their juice in some locker room? Or some parking lot between cars? No, these guys have doctors, trainers, and nutritionalists; they have prescriptions for pharmaceutical grade stuff, not a cheap Mexican cocktail. The point was made that these men and women are chasing a mirage, and they will do anything to get to it, but why chase something that is unobtainable? The sport of bodybuilding is all about bettering ones physique as well as better themselves through discipline and determination, why do we change our physiques and who we are as a person in order to chase the unobtainable, and instead of creating a godlike physique we create an antagonistic ego? Perhaps the pursuit of perfection is flawed, and we as the competitors must remain humble, and when the humility is lost and we personify this antagonistic ego, we must eventually return to the ground show reverence for what we had become! This was a great article; it showed the side of this great sport that is rarely spoken about.
