Counter Strike help?
Hey you guys. I used to play CS way back in the day before steam came out, and I was wondering if theres anyway to just download the old CS and just play it. I was never really sure how the whole Halflife/CS thing worked because I used to just play on my friends computer all the time and never had to buy it.
So...to all you CS nerds out there, whats the best way to play the OLD Counterstrike? Buy Half Life? How does it all work!?!?!?! I are teh conf00sed!

Steampowered.com, download steam(its a program to download counter strike), then you pay via credit card for whatever game you want. If you want cs 1.5 pay for that, and then steam will download it for you, takes like 10 minutes max if you have a good connection. Or you can buy condition zero, I bought source and barely have ever played it, not for me.

Nah, I never had half life either.
Edit: Oops I mean cs 1.6. 1.5 was when they created steam, and I had to buy another cd key because I forgot mine .
So yea, buy 1.5 if you want but I recommend condition zero, because more people play.

Condition zero, is that like the classic CS from a few years back? Sorry I don't know about most of this crap, I hardly ever play any computer games at all. Whats the difference between 1.5, 1.6 and CZ?

1.5 is the same thing as 1.6, condition zero is just a retouched verson of 1.5. Condition zero looks really jagged and clean compared to 1.5. I dont think there are too many people playing 1.6 though, so you should really buy condition zero. Its the same thing for the most part. Counter strike source however, is a completely different game.

Sweet guys. Thanks, I just downloaded Steam and I'm still deciding whether or not to buy CS. I remember back in the day I got so hooked on that **** it was unreal. Back then I was still in high school, no job, I just went to school, worked out, and then killed a few hours playing CS. I quit cold turkey, and haven't touched it for like 2 years haahha.
