Drinking Bathroom Sink Water

Is it safe to drink from the sink in the bathroom? (I'm at college and dorming here). I heard the toilet water goes through a different sewer system so that's not safe to drink but I also hear that the bathroom sink water and water fountain are all connected? All in all, is it safe to drink bathroom sink water as long as it looks clean? I don't mind a few germs, but I just don't want to get a disease or something

yeah i do it, got a water bottle in my room that i refill in the bathroom sink whenever i run out

tap water is tap water no matter if its in the kitchen or the bathroom

I am suprised that there is no water fountain on your floor or in the dorm from which to get your water. Also i am suprised there are no vending machines. Every dorm i have been in, either one stayed in or visited, had some sort of water fountain or vending machine.

Are you being serious?

Inless your in a 3rd world country the water coming out of your bathroom sink, assuming your smart enough not to drink straight from the bowl. Is probably twice as safe as bottle water because the water is tested probably 8 times a day, where bottle water only needs to be tested once a week and not for irons/mineral content(i believe) and is on a complete diffrent scale then city water which is kept very clean. Also the pipes that lead to your kitchen and to your bathroom sink are the same. Also those pipes don't work two ways and aren't the same system. Its not like you flush your crap down the pipe and then turn the fosit on and water comes back up the same pipe.

I heard a few months back Long Island's water system got contaminated and **** so people had to drink bottled water which makes me question the overall condition of New York's water supply

I do, just because its late or im to lazy to grab a bottle of water from the garage, so ill jus fill one up. Ive done it about 30 times prolly and im AoK!

I'd like to see that article and if it is true the follow-up of the decontamination. New York would have cleaned up the mess pretty quickly if it is a true story.
