Talking Help me please

Ok im 19 years old and last time I checked on my crappy scale at home I weighed 160 pounds I use to weigh like close to 180 but then I started excercising like crazy, I went homeless for a bit but kept my self fitt, I ran everyday for long periods of time, slept on gravel and put up with alot of cold nights I guees what im trying to say is during that time I pushed my body to the max allmost everyday, I did that for about two months and shed pounds like crazy ... then I just started allways going to the park and doing chin ups and hanging upside down from the swing set doing upside down crunch's ... so after awhile I lost alot of weight im at 160 now but im failrly lean I guees it was an ok exchange ... so anyways I got my **** together and im putting my self through college and since my college has a free gym I started using it about 2 months ago starting sept anyways so not 2 months exactly but getting there!, lol anyways I read alot from Building Muscle 101.com or google it and ull get it, but basically I was on the beginer excercises which was mainly doing just 4 body parts, and doing 5 sets of 10 on every excercise ...
so when I started out it was pretty pethetic I could only lift the 10 pound free weights and do a good set with them with proper form and I would run on the tred mill for as long as I could about 7 minuts full auto then I went on to the skipping rope for about 5 minuts, cause I use to box when I was like 15 and I was trying to mimik those excercises to gain what ever benifit they offer, I guees foot work, lol ...

so now I can lift the dumb bells that are marked 20 pounds and do 5 sets of 10 with them, I can do 100 pounds with that excericese machien that builds your chest where as you sit in a chair and gran the handles that are slightly behind you and you close it infront of you ...(dont know what this thing is called but I think it works out your Pectoraux or something ) and I can lift my own weight 160 with the leg lift where as your sitting on a chair put your legs behind the padded bar and lift while holding on to some bars that are attached to the chair ... I benched 120 with ease but it wasnt on a free weight bench it was on one of those ones that wouldnt kill me if I dropped the weight, lol infact that one allowed you to put seperate weights on each arm ... but it looked like a bench press, its like a bench press but on a machien so im pretty sure its giving me a mechanical advatage but I didnt want to do a normal bench press cause I remember once trying to do some simple weights with it and I could even do it but that was ages ago where even the bar felt heavy to me ... but yeah im 19 years old, five foot 8 or nine not sure but one of those or in the middle, im pretty lean, so anyways I allways work out till I cant no more till failure as you guys call it, but even so I still feel like some weeks I want to work out 2 or three days in a row, I read alot and it says not to do this, but I read arnold sh(long last name) building journal and he said sometimes he even worked out twice a day ... well I wouldnt work out if I felt broken but like today I have the energy and impationts to work out again today this would be the third day in a row ... is this a good idea ?, am I really weak?, how do I stack up against other people, am I ready for an intense workout like this or am I a dummy who thinks hes strong but really isnt and will hurt my self if I kee pworking out three days in a row ... also my deit is great I eat mostly healthy foods especially right after working out, i.e carrots, and a big sub .... but sometimes i splurge and eat like half the granola bar box, si this reall ybad btw?, or does it not matter?, lol I eat speratically throughout the day but I wouldnt say I starve my self or over eat .... I know my post is a mess and will take alot of time to answer it but please bare with me

I'll throw some links at you just to give you a better understanding of the basics that'll help get you started:

The best program for you to get on right now would be Rippetoe's Starting Strength; there's a really good write-up of it here:

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=750551

Those ought to get you started, read through them and try to take in as much info there as you can.
