Talking First carb up in two weeks - good results!

Just wanted to post a note here as I'm always one that REALLY hates my carb ups, LOL. (To the point that I think I probably skip them way too often).

Anyway, I had my first one in two weeks this past weekend. I started it on Saturday night around 8pm, and ran it until 5pm, dinnertime for me, Sunday. It probably went better than any I have ever done, as I made the decision to eat nothing but oats and Ezekiel Cinnamon raisin english muffins, with the exception of dinner. (For dinner I had two home made beef taco's on Ezekiel tortilla's, and refried beans).

My 24 hour period came out to around 500-550 carbs, at something like 3000-3300 cals. (Give or take whatever for error). Then, last night around 9pm, I had a few scrambled eggs along with some market fresh bacon, in hopes to get back into ketosis soon. (This am I woke to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil along with some heavy cream in my coffee). I'm feeling great! I think I can honestly say that for the first time, I didn't mind my carb up. For me at least, what I did different, was not trying to add in a bunch of different types of foods, and just stuck with the basics.

Who knows, I may actually start to do this things on a more regular basis, or at least every two weeks!

Oh, and amazingly, my weight did not budge! I'm down around 8 pounds since two weeks ago, and this morning, I have managed to remain the same. (207 and hopefully dropping)!

My first time around CKD i went all out on carbs. They were all good carbs like oats, pasta, brown rice, sweet potatoes. But I definitly went overboard with them. I think this time around i slowly start introducing carbs back into my system and then have a controlled amount like you did for the rest of the day. I hate the feeling of retaining water and being lethargic. Let me know how you strength is throughout the week

Strength is always great throughout the week....that's actually my problem. I've been eating this way for a long time, and tend to "skip" carbing up more often than not. Reason? I "feel" stronger when running on just fat, LOL.

Seriously though, I'm only trying to carb up more regularly now as I keep reading how bad NOT doing it is for you. I figure it can't hurt if done properly, and I'm sure there are those out there that no more than me about it, so I'll give it a whirl on a more regular basis for a while and see how it goes.

Yeah let me know how everything works out for ya. You may feel like you have more energy but when your progress slows, that is when you gotta take a look at you diet more closely. Are you still making gains as far as strength goes?
