Steps:
1. Wet your face with warm water. You may want to hold a wet washcloth to your beard for a few minutes to soften the skin.
2. Fill the sink basin halfway with water.
3. Get out a new razor, or replace the used blade in your regular razor.
4. Squirt a dollop of shaving cream into your hand or shake out shaving powder, and apply it to your beard in upward circular motions. The amount may vary depending on the thickness of your beard, but the area to be shaved should be covered uniformly. (Image 1)
5. Shave downward, the way your whiskers grow, from your sideburns toward your mandible using long, even strokes. Apply light but firm pressure, pulling your skin taut before each stroke. (Image 2)
6. Rinse your razor with warm water after every stroke or two to keep it from getting clogged with hair. (Image 3)
7. Shave the area around your chin. Shave upward as necessary to make the area smooth. When shaving under your chin, pull the razor from your throat area toward your chin. (Image 4)
8. Shave your upper lip, keeping the skin tight by curling your lip over your front teeth. (Image 5)
9. Wash off any excess shaving cream and examine your face for straggling hairs. Check the edge of your jaw, around your ears, and near your lips and nostrils for missed hairs. Go back with the razor to shave any hairs you missed. (Image 6)
10. Drain and wash out the basin and apply cold water or aftershave as desired.
Tips:
If you cut yourself, touch the wound with a styptic pencil. The bleeding will stop, but it does sting slightly.

Shave as often or as rarely as you feel you need it.

Double-blade razors give a closer shave than single-blade but are harsher on the skin. You may want to experiment with both.

There are different types of linked sausage which require different preparation techniques.

Fresh Sausage, which includes fresh bratwurst, fresh Italian sausage and fresh kielbasa, is not cooked during processing and must be cooked thoroughly and completely before consuming. Fresh sausage may be cooked in two ways. It can be parboiled and then fried or grilled, or slow cooked in a fry pan or grill.

To parboil, place sausage links in a heavy skillet. Add water to cover sausage and par-boil until sausage is grey throughout (about 10 to 15 minutes.) The sausage then can be fried until nicely browned.

Parboiled sausage also may be grilled slowly over coals, turning frequently until grey-brown throughout.

For a special taste treat, par-boil sausage in beer prior to grilling. To use this method, substitute beer for water. According to Peter LaFrance, author of Cooking and Eating With Beer, stronger flavored beers tend to impart more flavor to sausage. Beers that are heavy on malt will impart a sweeter flavor, which may complement a strong sausages. Lagers, when used this way, tend to be more bitter and complement a sweeter sausage well. Onions can be added to the beer while parboiling for additional flavor.

Sausages also may be direct grilled. Using this method, it is extremely important that the sausage cook slowly, thoroughly and evenly over mature coals.

Cooked Sausage like wieners, knockwurst, cooked bratwurst and smoked sausage need only be hearted since it was cooked thoroughly during processing. This can be done in a variety of ways. To steam precooked sausage, bring a pan of water or beer to a boil. Remove the pan from heat and add sausage. Cover the pan and let it stand 10-15 minutes. It is not advisable to add sausages to vigorously boiling water because it may cause them to split.

Cooked sausage also can be baked in casserole dish, microwaved, grilled or pan-fried.

All sausages should be turned with a tongs or a turner, not with a fork, because puncturing the casing allows the flavorful juices to escape.

Vary your jelly or jam choices. Although many choose "purple" and "red" jams for peanut butter (grape, strawberry, raspberry, boysenberry), some people swear by "orange" jams (apricot, peach).
Instead of jam or jelly, use sliced banana, honey, raisins, dried or fresh apple slices, unsweetened flaked coconut, bacon (yes, bacon) or any combination of the above.

5. I color my own hair and when I rinse, I rinse with warm water then I dilute white vinegar with water for the final rinse, as cold as I can stand. This seals your color so it doesn't fade out as quickly.
6. Rinse your hair with a quarter cup of vinegar mixed with three quarters of a cup of warm water to restore the natural acid balance upset by alkaline shampoos. Your hair will be soft and shiny.
7. Mix raw eggs thoroughly, and put the mixture on your hair as a conditioner, rinsing out after 5-10 minutes.
8. To condition scalp on bald heads: rub with olive oil and then lay on a hot (not burning!), moist towel. When the towel cools, reheat in the microwave. Be careful not to get too hot. Continue doing this several times.
9. It's said that a daily soak in burdock tea will stop hair loss.

How to use the phone in Canada

Using the phone in Canada works pretty much the same as in any other country. Almost all foreign countries can be direct-dialed.

For all calls within Canada (even local calls), you need to dial 10 digits: 3 for the area code and 7 for the actual number. Most local calls are included in your flat rate service. If you want to talk to your neighbour (assuming that its a local call) for 500 hours a month, you will just pay your flat rate of approximately CAD$ 20-30 per month. The downside is that you still pay the same amount if you don’t make any local calls.

If you are calling a mobile phone within your local area, you will not be billed. Bear in mind the person you are calling may be paying per minute though!
Long Distance calls

Long Distance Service is a combination of Domestic Long Distance and International Long Distance. Domestic Long distance is the service that allows you to call another city within the country and it is usually the same rate across Canada with your long distance provider. That said, if you lived in Toronto, Ontario, it would cost you the same to call Windsor, Ontario as Vancouver, British Columbia.

Domestic Long Distance Calls (calls within Canada): For long distance, you need to dial 1 and then the 10-digit number of the party you are calling. If you are calling a cell phone registered in an area outside of your area code, you will be billed long distance and your party will be billed for the duration of the call depending on the calling plan they have.

International Long Distance Calls: Calling overseas requires (in most instances) you to dial the prefix 011 followed by the country code. For instance if you were to call Italy from your phone, you would dial: 011 39 and then the Italian number you wish to call including the corresponding area code.

There is one exception to this dialing protocol. Canada and the United States of America have the same country code, so if you were to call the United States from anywhere in Canada, you would make the connection the same way you would with a domestic long distance call. The basic technique works whether you're squatting or sitting on a toilet bowl. You will need, two fully functional hands, a receptacle for the water, and your ass. It's a good idea to make sure you've finished defecating. Take your left hand and put it under your ass by reaching between your legs. Use your right hand to position the receptacle full of water over your ass, behind your back. Pour water slowly, use your fingers and hand to wash your ass (including your anal sphincter) with the water. It might help if you lean forward slightly. You should generally have enough water left over to give your left hand a quick rinse. Wash your hands thoroughly with a strong anti-bacterial soap. Be careful to clean under your fingernails as well.

A number of you are: 1. eager to try this out for yourselves or 2. shocked beyond belief. You may want to read the following points before you do anything rash:

* Water receptacles: pretty much anything will do. A plastic mug that can hold one liter is ideal, but I've seen milk bottles, watering pots, tin cans, measuring cups and coffee mugs used for the same purpose to adequate effect.
* If you are left-handed you should use your right hand to wash and the left to pour. The idea is that you never soil the hand with which you eat.
* Is it safe? I have absolutely no idea. Billions of people use this technique, and they seem to get through life okay (yes, I know their life-spans are shorter).
* Eew! gross!!! If you have access to toilet paper you should probably wipe first. I think it's rather gross to have dried excrement hanging onto your ass for most of the day. It's itchy and it smells.
* Can I just shower afterwards Yes, this is an adequate substitute. You can also sit on the bathtub edge and use a shower head at a 90 degree angle if a water receptacle is nowhere to be found.
* I haven't got any soap! Never fear, you do not have to walk around with a skanky ass till you find soap. You can still wash if you have ready access to some dry dirt. Washing your hands with soil will generally get them clean enough for you to walk around and look for a bar of soap without attracting undue attention to yourself.
* If I'm ever forced to do this I will amputate my own arm at the elbow! I really can't help you.
* If you wash your ass regularly, you should probably give up biting your fingernails.
* Two modern day implements can help remove some of the 'eew gross' feeling out of this procedure. One is a small shower head hanging right next to the toilet, the other is a spout attached to the toilet seat itself. Some jiggering with a tap or button and a medium strength spray can be directed at the unmentionables to be washed. Both miraculous inventions reduce the requirement for operation to one fully functional hand.
* As you can imagine, this doesn't work very well if it's below zero. That said, I have used snow for this purpose, to numbing effect.
