Madden 07...what are the people at EA Sports Thinking???
Ive been a big madden fan for a long time over the past couple of years this game has been on a downfall. yah sales are increasing but thats due to the lack of competition. Here are a couple of things that make me happy that i "borrowed" this game off of torrents.
1) The ratings. Okay seriously this is fricken madden 07 not 06. The patriots are rated number 1 and the eagles are rated number 2. Every NFL anaylist on espn has the eagles going bout 6-10 and last place is division and last time i checked these guys sucked last year. Ya TO or no TO this team was horrible on Defense period. and why are the steelers rated like 10 best team. they won the superbowl. complain all you want. ya theyre record wasnt great but they beat a VERY good colts team and won the superbowl. give credit were credit is due.
2) Did i mention the ratings? Why is Alex Smith rated 84 and vernon davis 86. ya im a niners fan. so i look up there ratings. way too good. give me a break. that means if i was in the nfl id be rated 82. EA Sports. YOU FAIL AT LIFE.
3) It takes 3 minutes to audible and 2 minutes to hike the ball. In other words way too complicated. yah im sure ill get used to it after 8 years of gameplay but hey im in college and its starting soon. what ever happened to press x then throw or run the ball. i dont wanna control a damn offensive lineman. it took me 3 minutes to hike the ball and next thing i know im controlling my left gaurd.
4) The price. look them up. enough said.
5) a lot of you may be thinking why are you complaining you didnt even buy the game? well theres a reason for that. have you played madden 05? what bout 06? talking bout games full of bugs and cheats and oh yah a grand total of 2 patches. EA is notorious for their lack of patches. This game is full of bugs and EA does NOTHING to fix its online play and ill bet my life that its not gonna change anytime soon.
Just like the command and conqueor seriese EA once again is messing up a perfectly good seriese. its too bad this stupid company has to buy out almost every successful seriese and run it into the ground.

I still play my 2k5, and the Eagles are actually supposed to be good this year, but point taken.

I love ESPN 2k5
Personally I hate the Madden franchise. I just dislike the controls. I wish they would come out with a NCAA football game with ESPN controls...that would own.

I also find madden frustrating, i dont like the controls and i don't like the commentary nearly as much, I'll stick with ESPN as well.

im playing as we speak.... Dallas (Me) 16 vs New Orleans 3 [2nd Quarter]
i dunno about this. I havent tried the O-Lineman control yet. Has anyone here tried it yet? I watched the 'tutorial' but it didnt seem appealing. All i can say is that it seems alright, my fav was madden 04. It seems that in madden 07 (and im playing on all-pro just practicing here) the CPU throws a lot of INTs.... i dunno if its just me but this is ridiculas.

2010 if were lucky. if sales stay at this rate expect that nfl exclusive only contract to be extended.
Edit: AMEN to this "my conclusion is EA Games is everything thats wrong with the gaming industry. "

im sure you will get used to it. I just hate they have the wrong numbers of the players on the teams of the years. That is stupid. You cant tell if you are throwing to jeryt rice or john taylor, or is that marcus allen or bo jackson, that is freaking stupid. The ncaa games are way more fun than madden though.

I dont really wanna spend the cash, but they wont shut up. Looks like im gonna have to head over to one of their places and give it a test drive

Link me to one analyst saying the Eagles are supposed to suck this year?
Everyone is expecting a big year out of McNabb, and Reggie Brown is supposed to be quite the sleeper receiver.
For Xbox, A is hike, and B is to control a lead blocker (ala offensive lineman)
So, if you want to hike the ball, press the A button like we have for this game in the past 10+ years.
Alex Smith is an 84 QB because he sucks. 84 is a horrid rating for a starting QB in Madden... always has been.
Last I checked, once again, A is hike, and it doesn't take 2 minutes to press the A button... so I don't know why its taking you so long to hike the ball.
If you press the audible button, A CHART DISPLAYS ON THE SCREEN SHOWING YOUR POSSIBLE AUDIBLE PLAYS, choose one and press the button. It's not hard, nor does it take long.

I haven't played another football game since 2k5. I hate the NFL for giving EA sports the exclusive rights to make NFL games and to put out a half-assed sh*tty product.

I also loved ESPN NFL 2k5, but then they got bought out, so I had to get used to Madden starting with 06. Ever since, I've discovered it's a great game. If ESPN starts their line again ever, I'll rent both and decide.
But give Madden a shot for yourself if you haven't already.. don't just listen to this guys post. A lot of his points don't make any sense to me.

I have Madden 07 on the 360 and it plays great. The only problem I have is my players never get fatigue. I can hike the ball right away..it sure doesn't take me 2mins.

NCAA 07 got kinda weird too. I've always been a fan of NCAA games, but EA sports NCAA 07 is just different than 06,05,04 etc. I don't like it. They keep trying to get it more in-depth and complex but what they're really doing is making the game harder to play. and not enjoyable.

Well I'm sticking to 06 for NCAA and Madden then. I dont have Xbox 360 or anything so it'll be for PS2/Xbox anyway and I highyl doubt it changed much.

I was alright with 06 on xbox but I'm hating 07 on 360. Graphics are great, but I HATE the way of play calling. Yeah you can disguise your play by pressing X on the play you want, but still you press it and can't move off of that play for a second so the opponent can still tell what play you're really calling.
Truck stick in this game will basically run over any player anytime. I scored with HB counter 3 times in a row by doing the Truck Stick on the OLB and it was wide open.
Interceptions come way too easily
I do like the new form of kicking though, that's pretty cool
Overall I'll stick with 06

The only major thing you're missing out on is the updated rosters... and most of the online players from 06 will be on 07 this year, so it might be hard to find someone to play.
Edit: in reply to TommyC, yeah, the new kicking setup is way better then the old one.
