Two questions for college life/dorm life. Please i could use some advice
Ok guys heres the two questions i need answering. First off i need some suggestions on what to take with me to my dorm in about a week. I leave this coming Sunday. Anyhow i have a list of things im taking and what i might need etc.. But im figuring im forgetting something so if yall could please give me a list of certain things that are pertinent for a dorm. Also the other question i have is what exactly food i should be eating in the morning and throughout the day for that matter.Since im on the 5 day meal plan and my schedule is going to be hectic i cant exactly cook anything like i can here at hom.e So im stuck with the cafeteria/grill setting at school. Usually for breakfast i have 4 egg whites/1 egg yolk and some oatmeal worht 50 carbs. Anyways i know i wont be able to do this but i cant exactly eat 6 eggs at school since their all with the yolk. Any help with food ideas for someone in a dorm?

definitely get peanut butter, its cheap and it has alot of cals. I got the all you can eat meal plan, so i'll be hitting a sandwich every 1.5 hours during the day. The place then closes at 7, so after that it'll be strictly peanut butter, protein shakes, and one can of tuna a day.

Well just be ready for your diet to fail. Not saying it will but maintaining a good diet in college is extremely hard. Just wait till the first night you get drunk in college, and everyone wants to order pizza at the dorm, lol. That will happen at least twice a week. And you will give in.

I'm back baby...and better than ever. I went through a one week period but it was fine because I kept my diet clean and kept training during that week so I didn't lose any size. I'm looking forward to the freshman 15 though. I need to get to 220 before April 1st.

My cafeteria was nice, they had eggs and everything for breakfast, they would cook omlets, they had oatmeal, cereal, bacon, sausage homefries and biscuits and gravy all for breakfast also fruits, i mainly got a ham/cheese omlet and grapefruit for breakfeast, i also ate lotsa tuna melts and stuff, you can eat pretty clean in there if you know where to look around.
also you really dont need anytthing more than a computer, fridge, clothes, bed stuff, toiletries, lamp, and anything for fun, like tv, ps2 or anything like that
good luck and have fun.

Sticking to a BB diet in college is EASY. When you stop making excuses and start looking at your options, all of you will come to agree with this statement.
Ok, so you're doing to be living in a dorm. Chances are, you'll have a small fridge in your room, and if you're lucky, access to a school grocery store, or a ride to a local grocery store.
Chances are, you are also on a budget. First step would be to budget out your food expenses before you start blowing money on beer.
So, what to get? Well, here are the "absolute staples" I bought from the grocery store and always had in my room:
- quick cooking Quaker Oats
- jars of natural PB
- Whey protein
- cans of tuna
- cans of green beans
- gallons of water
Every now and then, I took the school shuttle or found somebody to drive me to the grocery store, and I bought:
- 2-3 tubs of fat-free cottage cheese
- milk
- precut, cooked, packaged chicken breasts
- block of cheddar cheese
And that is what I lived off of for 4 years.
Basically, the only times I went to the dining hall was breakfast, and dinner. My 4-5 meals in between were:
- 1 scp whey
- 1 cup oats
- water
- banana
or
- chicken I took from the cafeteria, or the chicken I bought
- canned green beans
- cheddar cheese
I had a water gallon jug that I would take and fill up with Powerade from the caf, and have that after my workouts.
My budget was about $20-30 bucks a week for all of this. I worked Frosh through Junior year in the cafeteria too, so I had greater access to food and could take more.
When you eat in the cafe, stick to the grilled chicken, salad bar, and lunch meats. DO NOT eat the entrees or the stir fry.
