DELICIOUS! Pumpkin Oatmeal
Just came up with a new recipie its fking Delicious, is a must share highly nutritious, lots of protein, complex carbs, lots of fiber, Lots of vitimans, 1000% Vitamin A from the pumpkin, low in calories and very very filling can also be tweaked, be creative, pretty easy to make aswell
Heres The recipie, pics, nutrition facts for the meal i made
Pumpkin Oatmeal-----------------
1 1/2 cup or---12.2oz can pumpkin
1.5 or more tablespoon or----- .3 Oz Cinnimon
1/2 and 1/4 cup-------or 2.2oz Rolled Oats
about 1 1/2 cup or----- 8oz Of Egg Whites
Lots of Sweetner mmm
Ammounts may be tweaked by individual,
This recipie i totally came up with it is delicious beyond imagination,
it taste like sorta like a pumpkin pie, then its got the nice taste/texture of oats.First bring about 1 1/2 cup of water to boil (more or less depending on how much you tweak the original recipie)then add oats, cook oats till they start to turn thick and sticky then throw in the Can Pumpkin and stir till its
all evenly mixed.
Once you have done that (whisk egg whites, if you want) then throw them in the pot and stir real fast, this time with a fork makeing sure it is mixed evenly throughout the mixture. Let cook for about 3-5 mins on medium heat stirring occasionly so as it doesnt burn and make a mess. Then stir in your 1.5+ Tablespon of cinnimon(you can put in some pumpkin pie spice too) stir till
its mixed evenly (the purpose of the cinnimon is not only for flavor, but it also greatly helps thicken up the mixture, plus cinnimon is extremely healthy ,so dump it in) Then allow to cook for 2-5 mins again stirring occasionly so as it doesnt burn or stick to your pot. When ready add sweetner dump onto plate and enjoy
(warning not for those who cant EAT BIG, altho fairly low in calories,if you follow my ingredients your going to get one big ass plate of food mmmmmmm DELICIOUS)

Can pumpkin is pretty cool, my mom had like half a can left in the fridge and i was like hmmmmm i can make something outa that. So thats how it all began, plus when i looked at the nutrition facts i was like woah, 1/2 cup only 40 cals, with 5 grams of fiber and over 100% vitamin A dam good stuff.

You dump in the raw egg whites into the mixture in the pot on the stove , it will cook in the pot and give it a good texture dont worry

Yup, i got all the measurments/nutrition data correct for the ammount used. I have it all customized in my fitday using www.nutritiondata.com mmmmm cinnimon mmmmmmm
Yes you could actully probally mix it all at once and chuck it in the oven, itll probally come out like a pie.
Tomorrow im going to use 2 cans pumpkin and 17oz egg whites with .5oz of cinnimon. Hopefully itll come out like a big pile of delicious food mmmmmmmmm

wow i just used 1 and 1/2 cans of pumpkin mixed with about 18 egg whites and all i can say is omfg if you thought the old recipie was big eatin. This is rediclious, i am eating a 5inch high mountian of food totally covering the plate. Altho its not as thick as the recipie with the oats there efinitly lots more food and protein all for the same ammount of calories

sounds pretty damn good, although in the morning for breakfast its hard forcing a large cup of oats into me packed with milk nevermind the pumpkin, which iv never tried nor seen in canned form ...must be a US thing...although gonna look out for it in the supermarket, sounds like a damn fine tastie food recipe.
Well done

Hey thanx for the recipe, i was looking for a HIGH Vit. A source to add to my diet but couldn't find one that was convenient enough...but now i got this. But hey i was wondering, what kind of spices are there for pumkin pie (as u noted above)? and are there any fruit preserves that you think would complement this? Im using a sugar free black berry one. Right now this is what my oatmeal looks like:
2 cups water
1 cup oats
1/2 tbsp black berry preserve
1/2 tbsp Mrs butters worth sugar free
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
5 packs of splend!
1 cup can pumpkin
im considering in adding 1/2-1 cup of water, what do you think? does that look coo'? I haven't tried this with the pumpkin yet but so far its DEE-Licious!

The only spice i know of for pumpkin pies are really , cinnimon and ginger, or mabey a maple syrup. I dont know how a preserve would taste on it, probally make it taste kinda funny. As a note of advice if you may want to use half the can of pumpkin with you current recipie because , otherwise it will be a bit more watery also you dont seeem to have eggs in there which help thicken up the mixture to a thick consistencey. Dont add more water either unless you add more oats, to much water and itll just be more like a soup

dang i wish i read this earlier. I just made it and yeah its like a soup kinda, but i guess im just gonna stick to the 2 cups. I didn't add eggs because i like to keep my eggs seperate from the oats, mainly because i don't use egg whites (4 whole eggs), and also i like the taste of the scrambled eggs that i make (eggs+turkey+spices+veges on the side). Next time i'll also try adding the ginger to it. But hey thanx for getting back at me.
and to the other guy im gonna have a look out for that pumpkin pie spice...thanx!
