Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Shameless Self Promotion)
If any of the BB.com forumites are going to be in Edinburgh for the festival, it would be great if they wanted to come see the show I'm producing. PM for details...
(If anyone objects to this thread as an infringement, no pun intended, of the rules I'll happily delete.)

What sort of show is it?
If it involves a hot tub full of yoghurt, a piano stool, 3 midgets and Jack Osbourne you've stolen my idea.

No it's a new version of Sophocle's Antigone translated by Seamus Heaney. It's surprisingly good, I mean, I was expecting to be bored by it when I saw it, to be perfectly honest, but it's surprising riveting.
It's on from the 21st to the 26th August.

By translated, do you mean re-written? Put another way- how much of Heaney's influence is there? Antigione is one of my favourite classical dramas, and I've always wanted to see it live, but I'm yet to come across anything by Heaney that I like.

I'm not an expert on the original, but from the people who are familair with it, they seemed to see it as a fairly good translation. There is some of Heaney's influence in there, but it seems to stick close to the source material.
Come and see it!

That sounds a bit better. I just like to draw a line between translations and adaptations.
