Battle between Almonds and Walnuts!
I'm an almond fan myself....love em! I've now later learned that walnuts are now the ideal choice nutrients wise. But I hear back and forth which one is better not that I care cuz i'll stick with almonds, but I just want to hear your guys opinion on this matter?!

walnuts are better... almonds definitely win the taste battle in my book though, and the difference macros and fatty acids is not dramatic enough for a change.
the best almonds are blue diamond wasabi and soy sauce though a lil too much sodium.

I agree on blue diamond they are the best, but never tried the wasabi kind. I only like that stuff on my sushi.

Another advantage of walnuts is that you can eat them raw and they still taste good . . . not as true for almonds.

I still prefer raw almonds over salted ones and also over cashews and any other nut for that matter. They can't be beat!

There both great sources of fat, the walnuts are mostly Polyunsaturated and contain Omega 3's while almonds are mostly Monosaturated i think it would be a good idea to spilt it between almonds and walnuts, to even out the Poly and Monosaturated fats, and to get the benifits of the Omega 3's in the walnuts.

Good point Karl ha. I've already been splitting them up I just have big bags of both just cuz everyone says to eat your walnuts. But almonds still win my vote overall

Doesn't roasting affect the fatty-acid profile of nuts?

I buy both. I prefer the almonds for taste, walnuts for omega-3 content. I make sure to get 1/2 oz at least of each every day.
