SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea's defense minister said his country will strengthen its nuclear weapons program in response to U.N. sanctions and American hostility, the North's official news agency reported Wednesday.

North Korea will upgrade its arsenal "in every way by employing all possible means and methods" and will greet any aggressors with "all-out do-or-die resistance and unprecedented devastating strikes," Kim Il Chol said, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

It's not that they care if they have nukes or not, it's how they're planning on using them. If the UK was threatening to use nukes on the US or any other country, the US would be on their case as well.

They wont let us benefit because once prices start going down all of a sudden, right after Iraq, it would only strengthen the claim that the U.S. invaded Iraq just for the oil.

Iraq never had WMD's so it was ok to say they did and invade them to get rid of the non-existant WMDs North Korea on the other hand blatantly said they have them and are testing them, an invasion from the U.S. would only make NKoreans use the nukes. Same for countries like Pakistan etc, they have nukes and so the U.S. would never think to invade them to "Get rid of WMD's" so they did the next best thing, they made countries like those their allies.
