Why are dolphins so protected?
I see on cans that they say dolphin free or safe. Why does it matter? Why are dolphins regarded more importantly than say tuna? I would eat a freakin dolphin if it was for sale. I dont give a hoot. But really why?

dude we have an abundance of tuna. People are killing off dolphins to the point of extinction, and plus it is easier to spawn tuna than it is with dolphin.

dolphin safe, means that the nets they used to catch the tuna had small holes, so baby dolphins couldnt get tangled up and die.

the methods that some tuna fisherman use result in the pointless death of lots of dolphins (they die in the nets and are just thrown over the side), dolphin safe means that the fishing practices used don't unnecessarily kill other animals

dolphins arent just some dumb fish with knowledge of space and time. They save humans, work for us and blah blah blah. I dont give a crap about peta, i dont care if dogs are being eaten in china all i really care about are the dolphins, theyre like kids, why should we kill them?

because they're put into a new environment, the net, and have to figure out how to get out of it w/in 5-10 minutes. Some get out some don't. Kinda of like how some humans would get out if put in the situation but alot of others would die. But unlike humans the dolphins haven't over populated the earth so can't afford to keep dying.

I know the Japanese export it to the US; you can probably find some at a local ethnic food store. el fornio is the only brand I ever see at the one where I live.
